Born in Windsor Twp, he was the son of the late Morris R. and Sadie I. (Herber) Heckman. Lloyd worked as a fuel truck driver for 23 years for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. Lloyd was a member of Vaux Lodge #406 F. & A.M., Hamburg; the Rajah Shrine; and Sunnyside Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting; traveling to Arizona to see his daughter Karen; and plowing snow for Windsor Twp.
Surviving is one son, Dennis L., husband of Karen A. (Graff) Heckman, Edenburg, Windsor Twp; one daughter, Karen R. (Heckman), wife of Kenneth Blue, Yuma, Arizona; four grandchildren, Andrea Heckman; Shelley (Heckman), wife of David Strunk; Nicole Blue and Lane Blue; and one great-granddaughter, Rylee Strunk. Lloyd is also survived by three brothers, Ernest E. Heckman and Paul B. Heckman, both of Windsor Twp; and Carl R. Heckman, Reading; and one sister, Ruth M. (Heckman) Kersh-ner, Hamburg. He was predeceased by two brothers, Nevin M., and Leroy G. Heckman; and one sister, Grace I. (Heckman) Wanner.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 354 Zion's Church, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S.4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear) on Friday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Vaux Masonic Lodge Service will be held on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, at the above address. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
