Lola Herrmann

March 8, 1919 - July 22, 2011

Lola Herrmann, age 92 went home to be with Jesus on July 22, 2011. Her husband of 59 years Kermit was already there waiting for the Indian.

Lola was the 2nd oldest of 4 girls. Her dad died when she was 6 years old. Her mother raised 4 girls during the depression. During her high school years, she was a live in nanny. What an adventurous spirited woman, always ready to go somewhere. She told many stories about waitressing at Max Frolics in Tacoma, WA.

Then she became the wife of a farmer. For many years they lived in Sunnyside, WA., moving to Shasta county in 1966, she then became a librarian at Bass Elementary School in Mountain Gate where she retired. As a member of the Buckeye Grange, she did what she loved to do being around others and serving people. For those of you that may remember, they would have pancake breakfasts and spaghetti feeds or dinners at the Buckeye Grange on Lake Blvd. Lola was always there with a smile and it seems she had many hands to serve. If you did not know her from the Grange, you did around tax time. She owned and operated R&L Tax Services for years. She prepared many taxes over the years until a stroke affected her eyesight. She absolutely not only loved doing taxes but getting to know her customers and becoming part of their family through their stories.

What a cook she was! Lola made the holiday dinners special and made the best candy! Fudge, Almond Roca and the Bon, Bons!

Lola is survived by son K. Dale Herrmann, Jr., and wife Martha of Redding, daughter Treva Forrister and husband Jon of Shasta Lake. She has 5 grandchildren; Gabe Forrister, Amber Burlew, Jaimie Herrmann, Sarah Fischer and Becky Fogarty whom she loved and would do anything for. Lola was also very proud to be a great grandma to 4 great grandsons; Kaden, Landon, Lincoln Burlew and Casen Fogarty. She is also survived by her sister Treva Showman of Boise, Idaho.

Preceding her in death is her husband Kermit Herrmann in 2008 and son James "Dick" Herrmann in 1988.

Mom, We do rejoice for you cause you are in heaven, but we are sad for our temporary separation from you.
We know we will see you again because we believe in Jesus!

To all of Lola's family members,

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of your precious loved one. She was such a sweetheart in every sense of the word which will make her absense harder to bare. We are praying you will feel the loving arms of Jesus around you in the days, months, and years ahead. She has left such a wonderful legacy and I pray you will feel peace and joy as you cherish the memories she has blessed you with all these years. She was a great neighbor to us "Booth's". We could have looked the whole word over and never have found greater neighbors than your mother and father. We miss them greatly, especially their wonderful sense of humor. Ward Lane will never be the same again.
Wishing God's blessings upon your lives,
Elaine, Wendy & girls, David & Laura

Dear Dale, Martha, Treva, Jon and Families, I share with you, the sorrow of parting with your Mom. I sometimes have thought,I wished that your family had not moved to California in the 1960's, but stayed with us in good old Sunnyside, WA. However, I have at the same time thought what a great move it was for you. I guess I wish I had known her just a little bit better and that scenario would have allowed it. Aunt Lola was a strong woman and I appreciated that. As I shared with Treva, my last conversation with Aunt Lola, was the longest and best we ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. God knew, it would have to stand for all time. God's strength, blessings and comfort on each of you in the proportions that you need. Much love, Ann and Corey
