GREENSBORO — Mr. Lonnie Ray Brown, the son of the late Sudie Roary Brown and the late John Brown, was born August 25, 1925, in Addor, N.C. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2009.
The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 15, at Godly Love Baptist Church with the Reverend William Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. After proudly serving his country, he retired as a disabled veteran. He was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ in Greensboro until his decline in health.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Beatrice Brown, and one stepson, Johnny Maxwell.
Surviving and mourning his loss are one sister-in-law, Lealer M. Brown (married to the late Isaac Brown); a devoted nephew, Jerry L. Brown; two special nieces, Facenia Feigel (Rudy) and Donna Armstrong (Joseph), who provided special care and love; special friends and neighbors, Ernest Bass and Ruth Wilson, all of Greensboro, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
