Michelle/Jimmy,
I'm saddened to hear of your Mothers passing as well as your father. I'm not sure you'll remember my family and I but we lived behind you in Westalnd and were very close with your family. I used to babysit both of you and my brother and I enjoyed an "uncle" type relationship with your Dad. He would go to the park with us and play baseball and got us into model rocketry. He would buy all the rockets and materials and we would help build and paint them. Then we would take them up to the field behind John Marshall Jr. High and set them off. We would also get together for game nights but our favorite was the table hockey with your Dad doiung play-by-play! He was just a big kid!
I always loved your Mothers infectus laugh and the way she would tease me. She was a very gentle soul and I have fond memories of the time we knew all of you. I wish you both strength and peace in this difficult time and hope you are both doing well!

Michele and Jimmy,
I would like to express my deepest condolence to the both of you on the lost of your beloved Mom. She was truly amazing and beautiful person who I ever met. She was like a second Mom to me during my high school years and part of my college years as well. She always knew what Michele and I were up to in High School. I always remember your Dad and her enjoying drinking their Dunkin Doughnuts coffee and eating their Domino's Pizza. She truly loved her beloved fur babies so much. Michele and Jimmy know that your mom and dad loved both of you so much. Her memory will continue to live on within the both of you. Know that she is at peace now and no more suffering. Michele I remember the day she let you drive the Corvette. Michele and Jimmy I'm here for the both of you as friend. I know that we lost contact with another over years. Here is my phone # 7346730955 if you wish to contact me. Again I'm deeply sadden to here the news on the passing of your Mom.

With love and hugs and friendship ,

This year 2024 Easter falls on March 31, my mother's birthday.
She would have been 79. I am writing this tribute to her so family and friends will never forget my mom's countless sacrifices to raise my brother and me in a loving and nurturing home. This also serves as a historical reference for our extended family. My father Philip Ruffino Jr. and mother Loraine (Cebulski) Ruffino had been living in Detroit since their marriage on September 19, 1964. Loraine gave birth to me in March 1966 before her 21st birthday. They eventually settled in Westland while my father was working for the Ford Rouge Steel Plant. In January 1969 my brother James was born. We had so many great memories together as a family. It turns out that a family of four is perfect for playing card games and board games. We were also involved in soccer, chess, and music lessons. Loraine was the stay-at-home mom that kept us on top of our academics and sports. On February 13, 1995, we lost my father to a massive heart attack. Loraine would go on to be both parents to us as we navigated our adult lives. She was a very protective mother and always made sure we had everything we needed to be safe and secure. There aren't enough words to describe the level of commitment she had to us and her family.
We found out she had stage 4 lung cancer in December 2023. I knew we didn't have much time left with her. She comforted us in her final days as we cried knowing what a great loss we would experience. We talked to her and made sure she knew that we appreciated and loved her.
In the end, for the last two weeks, we cared for her at home in hospice. We were now the caretakers. Life had come full circle for the three of us. She deserved to be as comfortable as we could make her. She is now with our everlasting Lord Jesus Christ and all the members of our family who have passed away. May they all rest in Eternal Peace and know they are missed every minute of every day.

I had many wonderful conversations with Loraine and many awesome holiday meals as well. It was always a treat when she would bake me a whole cake! I was blessed and fortunate to have had her for my mother-in-law. I'm sure all the squirrels and cats in her neighborhood told each other about this kind lady that fed them throughout the year. Her loving spirit will live forever in my heart!

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Aunt Loraine. She was a wonderful and caring presence in our lives as children. She created cherished memories that will always hold a special place in our hearts. The Sunday dinners, playing outside with Michelle and Jimmy, and the joy of spending time with Aunt Loraine and Uncle Phil are moments that will be treasured forever. Aunt Loraine´s kindness and sweet nature will be dearly missed, but her loving spirit will live on in the memories and love we have shared. All my thoughts are with you Michelle and Jimmy as you go through this difficult time.

Lorraine and Phil, Lou (Ferris) and I were newly married couples in the early 1960´s. We spent many weekends visiting, laughing, eating, playing cards until the wee hours in the evening. Good times and good memories. Elke Ferris

I am saddened to hear that Loraine passed. I am blessed to read that her life was in God's hands. We used to call her Aunt Loraine - we are extended family. Jimmy and Michele would come over when we were children and I have some funny memories of those times. My family will be praying for your family as you walk through this time of grief.

I only know Mrs. Lorraine Ruffino, through her loving and devoted daughter, (Michele’s) attendance/workouts, at a local wellness center facility, and her sharing of her mother’s last mortal days. I am very saddened by her early passing on to Everlasting Life with her Creator. Michele, talked very highly and respectfully of her mother. Michele's grace, poise, articulation, and intellectual abilities were obviously passed by a caring, devout, and loving Mother. I would have endured to meet and chat with such a wonderful parent, to both Michele and James. May our Loving God, Guide and Bless her Journey into Eternity, and to be reunited with her late husband, Phillip.

To my Mother, Thank you for all the sacrifices you
made for me. Thank you for All the hard work you have done over the years.
Its time for you to rest and fly with the Angels.
You are the one who can take the place
of all others but your place no one else can take.
I hope to follow your lead, and one day become just like
you.

I awake each morning to start a new day,
But the pain of losing you never goes away.
I go about the things I have to do,
And as the hours pass, I think again of you.

Your son James.

Loraine was my mother. She always supported me in good times and difficult times. I inherited her love of animals and will be forever grateful to her for guiding me through life.

Loraine was one of the best neighbors I´ve ever had in my 25 years of living in homes and apartments. She was SO damn kind and hilariously honest. That´s what I loved about her. We would have bonfire BBQ´s with neighbors and Loraine would always be there with her bottle of wine and humor. I already miss Loraine and my thoughts are with her direct family at this time. She was an amazing woman!! Her life should be CELEBRATED!!
