Loretta E. Renda

Loretta E. (Clark) Renda, age 100, resident of Newburyport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 11 at Advinia Care in Newburyport. She was the devoted wife of 65 years to the late Paul J. Renda who passed in 2017.

Born in Haverhill on November 25, 1924, daughter of Edward and Flora (Dumaine) Clark. She attended Haverhill schools and worked at Maude's Bakery for several years perfecting her baking skills. Loretta was a long time resident of West Newbury where her and Paul raised their family. She returned to school in her 60's to receive her Cosmetology degree.

Loretta is survived by her six daughters, Paula Renda of Newburyport, Laurie Davis of Tampa, FL, Diane Klocker and husband, Joe of West Newbury, Gail London and her late husband, Marty of Hampstead, NH, Maria Terranova and her husband, Graham of Newburyport and Carol MacLeod and husband, David of Sandown, NH. In addition, she will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her 13 siblings including her beloved twin sister Leona.

Loretta was a devoted grandmother and loved to spend time with her grandchildren playing cards, riding to the beach, shopping at the mall and going for ice cream. She was an avid swimmer throughout her life and never missed an opportunity to get into a pool into her 90's. Loretta loved treating her family to fresh baked pies and homemade pecan rolls for every holiday and taught her daughters and grandchildren her special recipes. A lover of all animals, she always enjoyed outings to area animal parks and the MSPCA shelters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, June 27 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Hampstead Congregational Church, 61Main Street Hampstead, NH. Her funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
