Louie was my childhood friend. He lived across the street on Allard Blvd. We had good times together.

I saw him at Shirley Deluzain's home following a christening of her granddaughter. He seemed to be in good health.

I am sorry to read of his passing. He will be missed.

He will have a place in heaven and perhaps I will see him there.

I will miss my litle talks with Monsignor LeBou before morning Mass at Our Lady of the Lake. I am thankful for the conversations we've had over the years and the stories he shared with me. One of my fondest memories of Monsignor is when he showed me the chalice that he received when he was ordained into the priesthood. He always had time for people and he was truly kind. May Monsignor LeBou rest in peace and may his family and close friends be comforted.

Thank you, Msgr. LeBourgeois, for your faithfulness in saying daily Mass for us at Our Lady of the Lake Parish. Your example of perseverance and grace, even in the midst of suffering, will remain in my heart and mind. May you rest in the merciful embrace of Our Heavenly Father, whose love you shared so well on earth. Please pray for us. Judy Landrieu Klein

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to share in the weekly mass celebrations at St. Jane de Chantal in Abita Springs with Msgr. Lebourgeois, he had a special gift of helping us understand the faith in a simple yet profound way. We will dearly miss his ability to move quicky yet with deliberate expression during the celebration of the Eucharist! Our prayers go up to the Lord for the family during this difficult time of grief.

I met Louie in the Summer of 1958 when he was a counselor for St. Raphael Summer Camp. He had a very positive influence on my life. I attended his ordination and invited him to our wedding. Msgr. Aleman was scheduled to marry us but he asked Louie to marry us as a surprise. This just topped the day off for me. We were married July 1 1967. As we celebrated our 48 years together we wondered where Louie was today. It was very sad news when I found out he had passed away. He is now with the Lord for all eternity enjoying the reward he earned while on earth. Andy and I send our deepest condolences to the family. Thanks for all you did for me.

My sincere condolences to your family. Louis and I went to grammar school together at Holy Rosary, graduated in June 1949. He preformed my husband and my wedding in 1970. We remained friends. Missed seeing him once he retired and moved across the lake. God blessed you and He will take are of you.

LeBeau and I along with my friend "FISH" (Leon Sturcken) met in Sept. 1949 at St. Joseph Seminary and have remained friends ever since. We were 13 years old and sat together, lined up together, attended Sacraments together, slept in dormitories' together, etc. We maintained our friendship with constant lunches/ dinners/cocktails and several meetings at the old/new home in Abita. He was a man's man and a wonderful example of what we like about a "good" priest. The last time we met April 10. WE chuckled that he was older than us - we will not turn 80 together this year. God will take special care of this servant.

Louie was my childhood friend in the 1940's. We shared many good times together in New Orleans on Allard Blvd. and in City Park.
It was my good fortune to have had Louie as my friend. I wish our time together would have been longer. He had the unique quality to be a trusted friend. We will surely renew that friendship in the presence of our Lord.
I last saw him at a baptism at St. Joseph's Abbey in Covington. We reminisced about our times together and the divergent directions our lives had taken.
The Lord be with you, Louie.

What a wonderful man---a great servant of God and a wonderful friend! I'll miss Msgr. LeBou, but hopefully I'll join him in heaven when the time comes and we can have more good times. Just thinking about him makes me smile, but I'm crying at the same time. All of God's blessings to his family!

Dear Family,
Thank you for the many years you've shared your brother, and how many lives he has touched.
We were close friends as our children grew up in River Ridge, and
I was able to visit with him many times at Mary Queen of Peace.
My last visit was to his Northshore
home when I brought him a book that
I gave to him.
He hss been in my daily prayers and
I pray that his life will foster future
Priestly vocations.
Sadly, I must miss the services, but
may God's Grace strengthen you and comfort you at this time of loss.
Sincerely,
Cookie (Gelpi) Zibilich

I fondly recall being taught religion by Fr. LeBourgeois at St. Charles Borromeo High School. He was always kind and patient. I also remember his laughter when he discovered that we called him 'the hoodlum priest' because of his motorcycle and leather jacket.
I hope he's riding a Harley in heaven. I know he will be sorely missed.

My prayers to his blessed family, both in and out of the religious life. He will be remembered fondly.....Loved his sense of humor. He was so very young when he was assigned to teach at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan, and had such a great way of teaching that it was not only interesting but so much fun to be in his class....absolutely loved him....

Msgr Lebourgeois mentored many Catholic and non-Catholic
youngsters at St. Matthew the Apostle, myself included. He spent time with us, setting a great example as priest and proud son of New Orleans. The Body of Christ on Earth has lost immeasurably with his passing.
