Lawasco remains extremely devoted to his grandchildren, Nodin, Caidence, Chordy, Trinity, Constance, Marco, Memphis .He is predeceased by his father Louis Skead Sr., mother Flora Skead, and his precious baby angel, Baby Eden Lila Dee Chicago.

Included in his circle of family are so many nephews and nieces; Jason (Cindy), Fredese, Waylon(Christine), Tyler (Punks), Jordan (Katie), Damien (Nat), Sam, Patti (Murphy), John (Lisa), Tray, Autumn, ShaSha (Chris), Chris , Taryn, Emma, Kaylo, Gavin (Chelsea), Charmaine (Josh), CeeJay (Dom), Matt. He considered Virginia's family his own and so many more too many to mention.

As a young man, he was trained by his Dad to be an excellent carpenter and built houses in his home community alongside his father, uncles and brothers. He was a very hard worker and tried his best to help out anyone and everyone that he could. He was everyone's "go to" man when it came to housing and did lots for his home community. From the time he was gifted with his first baseball glove, he excelled as a baseball player. For those who knew him, the rest is history. He was an awesome fastball pitcher which extended to his slo-pitch years. He was the best defenseman and MVP in so many tournaments from his youth extending to his old-timers hockey years where he again won so many championships with his mighty "Rat Portage Braves". Many a tale could be told about his prowess and sportsmanship in golf, hockey and baseball. He loved fishing and worked as a guide in his youth; loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting with his brothers and nephews. He leaves a legacy of sportsmanship, athleticism, respect; dedication to friends with an undying and unconditional love of family.

Honoring the wishes of his wife, Virginia; the Honorary pallbearers will be his best friend, Alfred Parenteau, Jason Bartlett, Glen Seymour and brothers, John Boss, Hilo, Manz, Andrew and Kavin. Official pallbearers will be his nephews, Jason Kelly, Tyler Punks Skead, Jordie Redsky, Nolan Penace, Kaylo Skead and Matt Skead.

Wake will be held on Wednesday, February 4th with traditional ceremonial services to be conducted by our Elder Clifford Skead on Thursday, February 5th at the Wauzhushk Onigum Nation bingo hall. Lawasco chose his final resting place to be beside his parents located at 1st Portage. Fish Fry dinner to follow at the bingo hall for all family and friends.
