Louise Clara Dionne

Louise Clara Dionne, 90 of Rocky Hill, formerly of Voluntown, passed away peacefully on Monday July 7, 2014. She was the loving and devoted wife of Yvon A. Dionne for 40 years. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed family and many great friends. They traveled a lot and enjoyed building their new home in Voluntown. Louise enjoyed her Red Sox and UCONN Women's Basketball. Louise was an independent woman before that phrase became popular. She excelled in everything she did, including school, work and her personal life. She learned how to use a computer in her mid-80's and loved e-mailing friends and family, reading the Canadian news, and researching on Google. Louise was born on July 15, 1923 in Rustico, P.E.I., Canada, the daughter of the late Mathilda Pineau Doiron and Stanislaus Doiron. Louise came to the USA in 1956 and worked as an Executive Secretary for Aetna until she retired in 1983. She was a devoted step mother to Gloria Clancy and the late Diana Girouard. She loved her grandchildren: Brian Clancy (Diana), Tom Clancy (Tammy), Denise Crossin (Frank), Dennis Burton (Jodie), Rhonda Girouard, and Ron (Alli) Girouard. Louise was a loving great-grandmother to Aidan Clancy, Madison Clancy, Emily Clancy, Owen Clancy, Evan Clancy, Brittany Crossin, Maranda Crossin, Raquel Crossin, Andrew Burton, and Alivia Burton. Louise is lovingly remembered by her sisters Stella Blanchard, Marita (Edward) Doucette and her brother Edgar (Patsy) Doiron. She was predeceased by her sister Delma Garnhumand, and brothers Vincent and Joseph Doiron. She leaves many loving nieces and nephews in the Canadian Maritimes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association. There are no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at 10:00 AM July 19th at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Burial will be at the Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
