Lucille Reichert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 22 to Apr. 24, 2008.

March 19, 1922 - April 18, 2008

At her request, no formal service will be held for Lucille Marie Reichert, 86, in Coos Bay. Her family and friends will hold a celebration of life with a potluck dinner at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the ILWU Hall, 2064 Sheridan Ave. in North Bend. Cremation rites were at Ocean View Crematory in Coos Bay.

Lucille was born March 19, 1922, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, the daughter of Richard and Esther Strassburg. She died April 18, 2008, in Coos Bay, of cancer.

She had lived in the Bay Area for the last 75 years and had worked in the seafood industry as both a processor and a floor lady. She was always known as a hard worker.

She loved spending time with family and friends, especially during camping outings. She also was interested in creating hand crafts, gardening, clamming with her husband and watching over her grandchildren. She was a loyal Oregon Ducks fan and often attended local school sporting events.

Lucille married Boyd Reichert in 1954, joining their two families.

She is survived by her husband, Boyd; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and David Sorensen of Gladstone, Judy and Phil Button of Coos Bay, Pamela Morris of Vancouver, Wash., and Aliceann and Kenneth Wilson of Whiteville, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karen Reichert of Sunriver; and numerous grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Walt, Jack and Bobby.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon, 3333 Walnut Ave., Coos Bay, OR 97420.

Arrangements are under the direction of North Bend Chapel, 756-0440.
