LORENZO, Luisa D. - Age 94, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Eduardo Lorenzo and Fr. Tim Nelson. Burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home on Monday from 12Noon until 8PM. On Tuesday, Mrs. Lorenzo will be taken to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where she will lie in state from 12Noon until the time of the service on Wednesday. A Parish Rosary will be recited 7PM Tuesday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Building Fund. Mrs. Lorenzo was born in Cuba August 25, 1908 and had been a resident of Flint since 1968, coming from Cuba. She married Luis Lorenzo July 24, 1929 in Cuba. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and their Altar Society and Missionary Club. She was a tireless fiesta worker and ran an active fleamarket for years. Surviving: her daughter, Esther (Lorenzo) Guzman and husband Pedro of Cuba; son, Rev. Fr. Eduardo Lorenzo of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Pedro, Maria Esther, Maria Elena, Miguel Angel; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lorenzo was preceded in death by her husband, Luis; her parents; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Miguel Perez-Pascual and caregivers, Virginia Herrera, Maria Guerrero, Tona Molina, Jacinta, Quintanilla, Lela Gomez, and the McLaren Hospice Workers.
