Lydia Holowash Obituary
On Friday, December 18th, 2015, in her 79th year, Lydia Holowash passed away peacefully at the Niagara Health System, St. Catharines site. Beloved wife of the late Michael Holowash (1992). Devoted and cherished mother of Walter and Helene. Loving sister of Oksana Metulynsky and Halia Humeniuk. Predeceased by parents, Dmytro and Maria Chrebto, brothers Leonid and Victor, and sister, Vera (Saluchok). Together with her husband, Lydia was a devoted member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George and remained active in the parish and community throughout her life. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched – family, friends, and colleagues at GM.
Visitation at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St., St. Catharines (905.684.6346) on Monday December 28, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Panachyda (memorial service) at 7 pm. Funeral service at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George, 8 Augusta Ave., St. Catharines on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, 480 Queenston St., St. Catharines. Memorial contributions to your chosen charity would be welcomed. Online tributes may be made at www.hulseandenglish.com.
