Lynda Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 15, 2025.
Lynda Brown (née Slone), age 54, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Born on April 5, 1971, in Akron, Ohio, Lynda brought warmth and creativity into the world from the very beginning. Throughout her life, she touched those around her with a deep appreciation for nature, craftsmanship, and adventure.

Lynda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener who took pride in nurturing plants and cultivating beauty from the earth. She was an exceptional cook and used her garden fresh food as a base for her dishes. Her hands were rarely still-she crocheted intricate patterns, worked skillfully with leather, and sewed with care and precision. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were heartfelt expressions of her creativity and her desire to bring comfort and beauty to others.

Her love for the outdoors was equally profound. She cherished camping trips and Jeeping excursions as opportunities to connect with nature and embrace moments of peace away from daily routines. These adventures reflected her free spirit and enduring appreciation for life's quiet wonders.

Lynda's strength shone brightest during her long battle with cancer. For 12 years, she faced each challenge with courage and grace, supported unwaveringly by Shawn. Her determination left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Shawn Brown; her father, James M. Slone; her father-in-law, Rick Brown; her mother-in-law, Debbie Grubb; and her sisters Kathy Dillon (Frank), Micki Falkenburry, and Kristy Slone (Gerald): Nieces and nephews Laura, Robert, Casey, Trevor, Jessica, Ryitt and Zilah. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Slone, and her daughter, Samantha Brown.

In honor of Lynda's generous heart and love for simplicity, the family asks that donations be made in her name to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.

At this time, no memorial celebration has been scheduled.

Lynda's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May her strength continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
