Lynn Katz Obituary
LYNN (SCHWARTZ)
Age 69, of Upper St. Clair, PA died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, David, brother Edward Schwartz (Bonny), sister-in-law Marilyn Stein (Allen), nieces Lauren Schwartz, Sandra Langs Taubman (Fred), Shelah Stein, nephews Bernie (Joanne) and Dr. Charles (Liise-Anne) Langs, and many loving and wonderful friends including members of the Foreign Ladies Club. She is predeceased by her parents Cecil & Miriam Schwartz and her sister Joan Langs. Lynn retired after 35 years as Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and 40 years at Juvenile Court-Shuman Center as consulting psychologist. Lynn touched the lives of many former students as teacher, advisor, mentor, and friend. In October 2005, Lynn was honored by the Pittsburgh Psychological Association with its Legacy Award for excellence in teaching. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside on Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Visitation 1 hour prior to services (12 Noon-1PM). Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, Susan G. Komen Foundation, PO Box 224523, Dallas, TX 75222-4523 or Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pgh, PA 15243.

Dear Dave,
Since we relocated from Pittsburgh, we keep in touch with news of our friends through the Post Gazette. We didn't know that Lynn was ill and were deeply saddened by news of her death. Our thoughts and our hearts are with you in your sorrow. Roland joins me in sending deepest sympathy.
