TAHLEQUAH – Services for Macie Marie Osburn-Passmore will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the South College Church of Christ, with Mr. David Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Mollie Fields Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.Serving as pallbearers are Macie’s grandsons, Bryan Swim, Mark Swim, Kent Swim, Jim Stone, Mike Osburn, Lyle Osburn, and Lee Jay Osburn. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Osburn, Jason Osburn, Jody Ardrey and Cody Ardrey.Macie Marie Passmore was born in Rose on May 29, 1917, the daughter of Thomas Isaac and Emma Elizabeth (Smith) Eslinger. Macie graduated from Chilocco Indian School. On Dec. 28, 1936, Macie married William D. “Buster” Osburn. This union was blessed with six children. Macie worked alongside her husband, and together they ran the Liberty Grocery Store and then the Osburn Grocery Store in Tahlequah. Later, Macie became the curator for the Murrell Home in Tahlequah.After Buster passed away in 1980, Macie married her present husband, Joe Passmore, on Sept. 6, 1983. They enjoyed 24 wonderful years together. Macie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. When not at work, she could be found working in her garden, quilting, and reading. She was a member of the Liberty Home Extension Group and also spent time working at Remarkables Shop. Macie loved to cook big Sunday dinners for her family and friends and made really good fried chicken and okra. Macie was very active in the Church of Christ. In true fashion, she never complained and had the most wonderful sense of humor. There are many lives that have been touched by her countless acts of kindness. She will be greatly missed by her many family and friends.Macie is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, “Buster,” in 1980; seven sisters; one brother; and one stepson.Those left to cherish Macie’s memory include her husband of the home, Joe Passmore; her six loving children, Gilbert Osburn of Lawrence, Kan., Ronnie Osburn and wife, Judy, of Guthrie, Irene Stone of Frisco, Texas, Eugene “Corky” Osburn of Tulsa, John Osburn and wife, Linda, of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Marjorie Swim and husband, Mike, of Tahlequah; and her stepson, Bob Passmore and wife, Sue, of Ada. Macie is also survived by one sister, Goldie Carpenter of Wewoka; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the South College Church of Christ; or the television ministry “In Search of the Lord’s Way,” P.O.
