Madeline C. Hanley

GAFFNEY, SC-- Madeline C. Hanley, 83, of Gaffney, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at her home. Born October 8, 1923, in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Francis and Beatrice Irene King Nickerson and the wife of the late Charles William Hanley. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Spartanburg and a U.S. Navy Veteran.Survivors include three sons, Michael John Hanley and his wife Linda, and Donald Walter Hanley, both of Charlotte, NC, and Richard Charles Hanley of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two daughters, Patricia Mary Fitzgerald and her husband Gerald of West Palm Beach, FL, and Beatrice Mary Chamblee and her husband Wayne of Spartanburg; four granddaughters, Melissa Catherine Jennings and Sara Nicole Chamblee of Spartanburg, and Allison Bright Hanley and Mary Colleen Hanley of Charlotte, NC; and three grandsons, Michael Charles Jennings of Spartanburg, Sean Patrick Hanley of Charlotte, NC, and Christopher Jude Fitzgerald of West Palm Beach, FL. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy I. Becker; and three brothers, Joseph Norman Nickerson, Donald Walter Nickerson, and Gerald Francis Nickerson.A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. James M. Crowley.
