Madonna Reichling Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 5, 2024.
Madonna Jean Reichling, 83, of Sierra Vista, AZ, passed away on August 2, 2024. Madonna was born on December 11, 1940 in Gaylord, Kansas, as the second daughter of Letha Martin and Donald Selichnow. A graduate of Beloit High School with the class of 1958, Madonna maintained close friendships with her childhood friends throughout the many chapters of life. Madonna's marriage to the love of her life, US Air Force Airman Howard Earl Reichling, brought her and her daughter Robin to five countries and fourteen different US states. The couple eventually settled in Arizona and enjoyed a long retirement.

Madonna was an avid hiker and lifelong animal lover. Though deeply private, she had a keen sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her passion for studying nutrition was surpassed only by her love for ice cream, and she cherished time spent chatting with her closest companions. She never knew a stranger and brought a smile to everyone she met.

Madonna was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, and her sister, Donita Carrier. She is survived by her devoted boyfriend, Ray, as well as her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to the Ramsey Canyon Preserve Stewardship Endowment.

The 1st biggest laugh we ever shared an there were many was the time we left a mexican restaurant an climbed into her red car. I couldnt get the key into the ignition, I tried an tried to no avail. Madonna grabbed the keys out of my hand an said "Ur doing it wrong" an preceded to try her hand . After about a minute of her trying she sat back an said "humf". Its at that exact moment we both yelled out, " Wrong Car!!!". She bailed out her side an I bailed out of mine. We went one car over, got in HER car a drove home, laughing all the way there. For a month after we'd leave from a restaurant, movie or hiking parking lot an would laugh at what kinda car are we gonna try an steal today???
