It is with great sadness that the family of Marc Matock announces his passing on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the age of 45. Marc was born November 30, 1975, in Salinas, CA to his parents, Ronald and Paula (Barsi)Matock.
Marc was one of the top defensive linemen to ever come out of Palma High School, and Monterey County. He led the Chieftain defense that won two Central Coast Section football titles, earning him a full ride scholarship to USC. As starting defensive tackle at USC, he earned all PAC-10 conference honors, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers. He graduated from USC with a degree in Public Policy and Management. After college, Marc was one of the top independent contractors and original members for Bridgepointe Technologies.
Marc is survived by the love of his life, Meghan and their two sons Lincoln and Carson all of Danville, CA. For 21 years they shared their lives as a couple and loving parents.
As a devoted husband and father Marc was passionate about playing with and coaching his two sons in every sport, they participated in. He was a natural born Coach and his athletes gravitated towards his charismatic, kind, and strong demeanor. Marc loved creating fabulous meals, taking his boys on unforgettable fishing excursions, and traveling with his family. The family also owns a ranch in Jackson, their favorite place to go, where many family moments and memories were made. Marc had a heart of gold, was so full of life, had boundless energy, an unforgettable smile and lit up every room by just being in it.

I expect Mark was one of those people that makes everyone he comes in contact with feel like a friend. In the 7+ years I know him, he always made me that way. Genuine, friendly, relatable; truly a gift to have know him. My deepest condolences to his family.

I was so sad and shocked to hear of Marc's passing. I have worked with Marc since 2009 when he cold-called me! He was very personable and we found we had a lot in common and enjoyed talking about our families. Meghan, Lincoln and Carson will be in my prayers, for peace and for comfort. I am so sorry for you loss. He will be missed.
