OWLS HEAD - Marcel A. Arseneault, 73 of Owls Head, N.Y., died early Tuesday morning, May 22, 2007, at his home, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
Born in Ste.-Clothilde D'Horton, Quebec, April 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Patrick and Florette (Desrochers) Arseneault. He attended schools in Quebec. He came to the United States in 1954.
On Oct. 28, 1961, he was united in marriage to the former Lise M. Fagnant in St. Edmond, Quebec. She survives.
Marcel worked as a shipping supervisor for Cly-Del Manufacturing in Waterbury, Conn., from 1954 until 1984. After moving to Owls Head, he enjoyed recreational farming. He was an avid gardener and sold his vegetables at the farmer's markets in the area for over 20 years. He also enjoyed cutting wood and working in his wood lot and fishing.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Owls Head and also served as an usher. He was a 4-H leader in Owls Head for eight years.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lise; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jane Arseneault of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Patrick Arseneault of Owls Head; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Denise Arsenault and Julien and Celine Arsenault, all of Ste.-Clothilde D'Horton, Quebec; seven sisters and three brothers-in-law, Flora Bedard of Ste.-Clothilde D'Horton, Quebec, Andree Arsenault and her companion Fidele of Ste.-Clothilde D'Horton, Quebec, Helene Arsenault of Drummondville, Quebec, Yolande and Claude Girard of Nicolet, Quebec, Rachele and Roman Ramenda of Hawkesbury, Ontario, Denise and Guy Beauregard of Nicolet, Quebec, and Pierrette Arsenault and her companion Serge Fleury of Victoriaville, Quebec; one grandson, Nathan Arseneault of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Normand and Jules Arsenault; and one sister, Lise Arsenault.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Church in Chasm Falls. Burial will be in St. Helen's Cemetery.
Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the North Country, Inc., or to the Owls Head- Mountain View Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
