Marcia LeFevre Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 23, 2025.
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marcia Sue (Marcy) LeFevre (78), beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend. After a long battle with dementia and Parkinson's, she joined her dear late husband, Golden, on June 14, 2025.

Marcy was born on April 5, 1947, in St Joseph, Missouri, to Ralph and Dorothy Moore, and lived a life filled with grace, love, joy, adventure, and an unbreakable bond with the people and animals she loved. As a young girl, she loved to visit her grandparents on their farm, and found joy in the companionship of horses, dogs, and cats, treating them as cherished members of her family.

When the family moved to Oregon, her passion for horses, especially, firmly established her free spirit, strength, and gentle heart. Throughout her life, whether riding, showing, or caring for them, or simply watching them roam, she found deep joy in their presence. She carried that same warmth and devotion into every aspect of her life, and touched those around her with an extraordinary love that was as unwavering as it was special.

After graduating from high school in Eugene, Oregon, her adventurous spirit led her to the breathtaking landscape of Yellowstone, where she found the love of her life, Golden K LeFevre. They married in Eugene, Oregon on January 29, 1966, were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on December 6, 1969, and eventually made their home and raised their family in Montana. Together they embraced the great outdoors every moment they could throughout their lives, hiking, riding horses, exploring, skiing, and jeeping. Marcy was not only a phenomenal mother to her three children, but she was also an exceptional mother to her adopted granddaughter and raised her with unwavering care and affection.

One of Marcy's strongest callings was teaching. She loved children and had an extraordinary gift for inspiring young minds, instilling a love of learning and having fun, and helping shape the futures of countless children. For years she taught Sunday school, early morning seminary, and every craft and life lesson she had to as many children as she could reach. Not until later in life after moving out of the snow and long winters to southern Utah did she have a formal career in teaching, and ultimately retired from East Elementary School in St. George, Utah. Even then she went back and volunteered. She was deeply loved, so fun, and her presence brought light and joy to everyone she met.

Marcy extended her kindness beyond her own home and family and she was a wonderful neighbor and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand and share a comforting hug. She fulfilled many callings as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including serving in the St. George temple. She was exceptionally precious - loved beyond measure and irreplaceable to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, laughter, and compassionate soul will be forever remembered.

Marcy is survived by her children Gregory (Jessie), Sandi (Rob) Kier, and Ann (Jeff) Hall; adopted daughter Brianna LeFevre; grandchildren Keegan LeFevre and Kylie Larson; brother Randall Moore; and numerous LeFevre relatives.

A service celebrating her life will be held on June 28, 2025, at 11 am at the Coral Canyon chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1998 N Coral Canyon Blvd, Washington, Utah. Video of the service will be live streamed at https://zoom.us/j/8480486839?pwd=wBY3FAwXonBfPaENLKuooTE6bbUurL.1. She will be laid to rest at a private service next to Golden in the Panguitch City Cemetery on June 30, 2025, at 11 am.

Special thanks to the Coral Canyon community and local LDS ward for all of your wonderful friendship and support of our mother and father the last several years. And to The Hummingbird Project, By the Bay Health, and Dixie Hospice for exceptional care and love for our mother in her last months.

Though she has left this world, her spirit gallops on - forever free, forever loved.
