Marco Lucchinetti Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 28, 2016.
Marco Lucio Lucchinetti died suddenly on June 24 at his home in Rutledge, Tenn.

He is survived by his wife, Rasa Adams; father, Dr. Mario Lucchinetti; mother, Marianne Berthoty Lucchinetti; sisters, Silvia Lucchinetti, Claudia Lucchinetti Wiepert, and Adriana Lucchinetti McCarthy; brother-in-laws, Mathieu Wiepert, Glen McCarthy, Lee Adams, Doc Adams, and Robert Kussy; sisters-in-law, Jura Adams, Zivilia Adams, Ugne (Gigi) Adams; nieces, Christina McCarthy, Daniela Wiepert, Liana Wiepert; nephews, Alex Aronson, Lucas Aronson, Joseph McCarthy, Daniel Adams, T.J. Adams; aunts, Celina Lucchinetti Lopriore and Anna Lucchinetti Manfredi; as well as his extended family in Italy.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Olga and Carlo Berthoty, and Giuseppe and Lucia Lucchinetti, and his uncle, Vito Lopriore.

Marco Lucio Lucchinetti was born Aug. 1,1958, in Chicago. He attended Bradley University, University of Illinois and DePaul University. Marco captained several years crossing oceans delivering sail boats. He worked for the Bank of America as the lead manager of an Informatic Technology financial team. Recently he was a computer systems consultant for Mayo Clinic.

He married the love of his life and soulmate, Rasa Adams, on Aug. 26, 1995 in Elmhurst, Ill. She was the center of his world and completed it.

Marco was often described as a "free spirit," interested in everything and everyone. All who knew Marco loved him for his generosity, patience, kindness, sense of humor, encyclopedic knowledge and innovative mind. He lived every moment of every day with joy, whether it was fishing, sailing, flying airplanes, riding his motorcycle, golfing, reading voraciously, listening to music, computer programming, or spending time with family, friends, and his wife Rasa. He adored his dog Bear, and the two often went fishing on Cherokee Lake. He guided his nieces and nephew through life as a friend and mentor.

Marco was our "captain" through life, always there at a moment's notice in time of need, bringing a sense of calm and optimism to any challenge. The impact he has left upon all of us is immeasurable and his legacy lives on in our hearts forever.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at Allen's Funeral Home, 200 Jaybird Road, Morristown, Tenn. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a Catholic mass service to follow at 1 p.m.

Donations in his name may be made to The Lake Michigan Racing Federation Endowment Fund (http://www.lmsrf.org; 3425 W. Gull Lake Drive, Richmand, MI 49083) or the Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Foundation (http://www.juddgoldmansailing.org; 875 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 3718; Chicago, IL 60611).

I have not seen Marco since he was a young boy living on Longwood Drive. I have nice memories of him, and of course his beautiful sisters and Mom and Dad. The Lucchinetti Family are special people - loving and caring. My sincere sympathy to Marco's wife, entire family, and friends. He will always remain in the hearts and minds of those that knew him. He lived a very full life, but taken too soon. With best regards and love, Bob Radostits/Chicago

Silvia and Family.....Very sad to hear the news about Marco's passing. The obit was a beautiful tribute to his life and his passion for family & friends. Marco was a fraternity brother, a Sig Ep at Bradley and my most memorable memory of Marco was our spring break trip to The Keys and all of us camping in one tent!!

My Thoughts and Prayers are with all of you.

I was very fortunate to join Bank of America in New York while Marco was still in Charlotte office. He was a great guy, very knowledgeable and a mentor for me. He had a good sense of humor, a special person one always wanted to have around.

Please accept condolences from my husband and I. We both appreciated Marco broad knowledge and free spirit. His disappearance came as a shock for both of us.

Our prayers are with Marco's family and friends.

Marco will be missed. My deepest condolences to all. I knew Marco from Bank of America and our Bigfoot Golf outing. He was a great guy and left us too soon. He almost always had a smile on his face except in his back swing:)
