Margaret Ayers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 12, 2008.
Dr. Margaret Ayers, Psychoneurophysiologist, was one of the first three pioneers in the field of Neurofeedback. She had been in full-time private practice in Beverly Hills since 1975 and was internationally renowned for her work with brain injury and in bringing patients out of coma, as well as in many other clinical applications of Neurofeedback. After contacting over 250 people notifying them of her death, the prevailing comment stated by those called was, "My life changed for the better the day that I met Margaret Ayers." She was a true prophet in her own land. Gratefully, her work and legacy will continue. Her dear friend, companion and colleague, Dr. Penny Montgomery will continue, along with engineering support from Michael Wolff, to run Neuropathways EEG Imaging and to provide training. A research fund has been established to further her work: "Margaret Ayers Research Fund" at 427 North Canon Drive, Suite 105, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. www.Neuropathways.com

I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr Ayers in early 1980's with this neurofeedback procedure. It helped me immensely. I am forever grateful for her pioneer endeavors to pursue this retraining our brainwaves for healing.

Dr Ayers healed me after I had a bad fall off a horse in the 1980's....Cedars had said I had brain damage after all the head injuries I had but with Dr. Ayers I overcame all and she was like the best teacher ever !! Iam so sad to see she passed. I had a friend I wanted to send to see her

God Bless Gigi
