Margaret (Margie) Williams Emerling passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Until the last moments of her life, Margie continued to express her love for her family and friends.

Margie's loving relationships encompassed the entire part of her life, and each aspect was special in a unique way. Everywhere she went - spending holidays and time with family or calls and video chats with friends, staying at home or outings and picnics, eating out with friends or cooking for guests, golfing or deer hunting, at church or music jams, painting or playing cards, ballroom or square dancing, Margie was always a welcome part of any activity. Her quick smile and easy manner made her a welcome, dynamic addition to any gathering. She had time for everyone who's path she crossed - stranger, acquaintance, or friend. No one went away without a smile or kind word.

Margie was born in Hamburg, NY, and raised by her parents, William and Marge Williams along with two brothers - Bud (Luanna) Williams and Larry (Sandy) Williams. She always said that her best decision in life was when, in 1956, she married David Emerling. Together they raised two children - Sharon and David. In 1969 Margie moved with her family to Jamestown, NY, and immediately joined and became active at St. James Catholic Church. She volunteered with AARP and RSVP, enjoyed time at the Roger Tory Peterson center, and became an integral part of her community. In 2022, Margie moved to Virginia Beach. There, she again made many friends at her senior living community, Acclaim.

Margie will be missed by too may people to name. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Emerling, daughter-in-law Sylvia Trusso Emerling, Grandchildren Drew Emerling (Great Grandchildren Avery and Jack), AJ (Danielle) Emerling (Great Grandchildren Rhys and Owen), Alexandrea Emerling, and one brother, Bud Williams. Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, David D Emerling, and her son, David G Emerling, and by many relatives and friends. While she was excited to be reunited with those who went ahead of her, Margie will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to to call her family or friend.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations in Margie's name may be offered to Sentara Hospice, who cared for her so well, or to any Hospice of your choice.
