Mrs. Margaret Elease Rogers Grover, 75, loving wife of Terry Grover, Sr., and of Mullins, crossed through Heaven’s Gates into a better world with no more pain or suffering, on the morning of January 12, 2023, at her home with her loving family at her bed side after a hard fought battle with illness.
Mrs. Grover, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was born on June 1, 1947 in Marion, South Carolina, a daughter to the late Daniel Franklin Rogers and the late Elease Cox Rogers. Mrs. Grover was a homemaker, taking it upon herself to raise a house full of children and her sweetheart, with all the love, compassion and devotion she could them. She made her house a home. Over the years of feeding several head of youngins, Margaret developed a recipe for fried chicken that would earn its place in legend for how good it was. People would make an effort to get a piece of Ms. Margaret’s chicken whenever the chance came up.
To break the time up from running a household and chasing after her children, Margaret would relax when she could by grabbing her fishing pole and visiting her local fishing hole. She loved getting away from it all and letting the fresh breeze and rippling water reset her mind. When she could slip away to wet her hook, Margaret loved working in her yard. The dirt therapy of digging in her flowerbeds or messing in her garden always put her mind at ease. In addition to these loves, Ms. Margaret’s biggest love was for her Lord, with His strength she could do anything. She loved her Bible and did the best she could to pass this on to her children and grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. Grover in addition to her loving husband of the home, Terry Grover, Sr. are her loving children: Leisa (Ray) Elliott of Green Sea, Terry (Natalie) Grover, Jr. of Mullins, Jerry Darvin (Kim) Grover of Tennessee, Cierra (Austin) Scruggs of Georgetown, Elizabeth (David) Sandwick of New York, Jennifer Grover, Rebecca Grove, both of Tennessee, John Grover of Mullins, and Hailey Grover of Georgetown; four grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; her sister, Judy Bollen of Oak Grove; her two brothers: William Charles Rogers of Marion; and Ricky Rogers of Oak Grove; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Grover was predeceased by a great grandchild, Matthew Chase; and two brothers, Bobby Rogers, and Wilbur Daniel Rogers.
A visitation will be held Saturday night, January 14 at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
