My condolences goes out to Margaret's family. I realize that you won't know me but I was employed at the ROH when Margaret was working and remember her fondly. She was a wonderful lady.

Dear Garry,
I was saddened to learn of Marg's death. My most sincere sympathy to you and your family. I worked with Marg at the Royal Ottawa Hospital in the 1970's. I was an assistant director of social work when she was director. She was an excellent director, supportive leader and a wonderful person to be around. She was consistently positive and motivated all her staff to be excellent and caring social workers. While I hadn't seen her in many years, I would hear reports of Marg as very active and engaged "retiree". It was an honour to know her.

We are profoundly saddened by the passing away of Marge. We first met as neighbors across the street back in 1975. We became great friends from the start. Marg was simply amazing. Great professional career, homemaker, gardener, athlete in her tiny frame (long distance bicycling) even in her advanced age. She was a voracious reader of serious books, kept on top of current events and brought her wisdom to her circle of close friends called the Pinecones who met monthly to debate issue of social and political import. She will be remembered for a long time.
Please Garry, Merelie and Peter, accept our sincere condolences.

I was very fortunate to know and work with this good lady while we were both employed at the Royal Ottawa Hospital. I recall many stimulating discussions re patients and families and certainly benefited from her insights and sense of humour as well as her caring persona

Marg will be sorely missed. Fun, encouraging, visionary and a great boss, committed to the best in social work. She was responsible for pushing many of us along in our careers. Marg and Garry were always entertaining and served up many fine dinners and parties. They set the bar for active living. Our sincere condolences to her family. Bob and Dorothy Giles
