Margaret Lowenberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 23 to Jan. 24, 2016.
Margaret Ann Lowenberg February 22, 1950 - January 15, 2016 We lost our beloved Margaret Ann Lowenberg (Galbraith) to cancer on Friday, January 15th at the age of 65. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Dave, children Brent and Lauralea Lowenberg, sister Marilyn (Joe) Murphy, sister-in-law Wendy Galbraith, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a legion of colleagues and friends who will miss her always. Ann is predeceased by her parents Mildred and Clarence Galbraith, her brother Ian Galbraith, and her nephew Jason Wilson. Formerly of Toronto, Ontario. Ann finished her schooling in Calgary, Alberta and has lived there ever since. A dedicated employee, she worked for Parlee McLaws for 35.5 years as a paralegal.

Though we grieve at her death we rejoice in her strong spirit, infectious optimism and brilliant mind. Though our hearts break at her passing, we will always smile in happy remembrance of her. We will carry the joy of her kindness, love and friendship, and her irresistible smile and laughter.

Please join us for a Celebration of Ann's life at the Riverview United Church, 629, 49th Ave SW, Calgary Alberta on February 4th at 1:00.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Doctors Without Borders in her name at MSF.ca

The most valuable antique is an old friend. For 16 years I had the privilege of calling you my best friend. I will forever cherish every moment we had together. The laughter, the tears, the long talks, our crazies, the matching tacky jackets and what could have been matching tattoos! (Boy I'm glad we backed out of that...lol). You were one of the best. So full of life, amazing stories, wisdom and class and I will miss you more than words can ever say. I hope you are treating Ian and Lise to one heck of rendition of Mercedes Benz. Rest in peace my classy lady. With love, your blonde friend, Gail xo

So sorry to hear of Ann's passing. My thoughts and heart goes to Dave, Lauralea and Brent. Ann and I worked together for 12 years. We had some fantastic conversations over a few glasses of red wine. I loved hearing her stories from back in the day at Parlee McLaws. You will be sadly missed my friend. Hope they have a decent bottle of the red stuff up there waiting for you!!! xxx

My Dearest Ann
From the day I met you as a little girl I idolized you and wanted to grow up and be just like you. You taught me so much as the years went on from shuffling cards, doing my nails to dressing professionally and working in the corporate world just like you. You and Uncle Dave were always there for me in the big city when I moved to Calgary as a scared young teen. I will cherish that forever. You were not only my Aunt but you were a best friend and I loved you and Uncle Dave so very much. I will miss you terribly and will always remember our memories and keep them close to my heart. I love you.

Just a note to those attending on Thursday. We found out that the Google had it wrong. The address of the church is correct but the sign reads Living Spirit United Church, not Riverview United Church. Apparently Google hasn't been updated yet. Ann Lowenberg will be added to the church sign that day.

I was so sorry to hear about Ann's passing. Dave, Brent and Lauralea, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Ann and I worked together for more than 25 years - and during that time we had many a good laugh (and some tears too). We never did get to share the glass of wine that we promised each other last year! Here's to you, Ann!
