Family-Placed Death Notice

MARGARET AURELIA SAWYER Margaret Aurelia Sawyer passed away January 25, 2007 in Decatur after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ms. Sawyer was born in Cuthbert, Georgia on October 23, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Samuel Sawyer and Wilma Goree Sawyer, and a brother, Hugh Sawyer. Ms. Sawyer attended LaGrange College. She was associated with first National Bank of Atlanta for 17 years. She enjoyed being a roving nanny to many loving families over the years. She was a member of the Kerr Friendship Sunday School class at Decatur First Methodist Church and the Children's Home Auxiliarry in Decatur. She was a member of the Atlanta Women's Club and the Dekalb Democratic Women. Ms. Sawyer is survived by two brothers: Cecil Sawyer of Atlanta & Tom Sawyer of Woodstock; six nieces, Cindy Nunn of Milledgeville, Helen Ponce of Hampton, Laura Crumbley and Susan Dull of McDonough, Frances Fields of Memphis and Jacqueline Drane of Knoxville, one nephew Leighton Sawyer of Lawrenceville, 15 great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Decatur First United Methodist Church Sunday, Jan. 28, at 1pm, followed by memorial services at 2pm.

We want to express our sympathy to Aurelia's family. Aurelia looked after our son, John, and dogs for many years and she became a part of our family during that time. She will be missed.
