Margaret Valentine Sly

Sly, Margaret V. June 11, 2011. Age 99 of Lincoln Park. Beloved wife of the late Russell. Loving mother of Joyce Kaufman. Dearest grandmother of Kenneth Kaufman. Dear great-grandmother of Ashley, Wesley, Kylie, and Valeigh of Connecticut. In 1991 City of Lincoln Park recognized her for Volunteering at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital, also volunteered at Westfield Senior Center, was a member of the American Business Woman of America, Took up square dancing in 1984. Mrs. Sly was a loyal and faithful member of Cavalry Lutheran Church in Lincoln Park attending Bible classes there as well. Played organ for senior gatherings and at nursing homes and in 1993 participated in the Senior Olympics. Volunteered at Lincoln Park day's celebration. In 1955 she was a magician's assistant in the World of Magic show presented by the Goodfellows of Lincoln Park. Retired from Security Bank once in 1952 and again in 1977. President of the Trenton Heritage Club in 1986, 1991, and lastly in 1996. Volunteered at Westfield Senior Center for over 20 yrs. starting in 1957. Visitation Monday June 13, 2011 from 12-8 p.m. with funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home 23750 Goddard Rd. Inurnment Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery (Flat Rock).
