MARGARET "PEGGY" (KNOWLES)
Age 90, of Black Mountain, NC, formerly of Mount Lebanon, PA, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005. She was born on November 2, 1915, in Montana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, Gale Sterling, and her brothers and sisters. Peggy was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was a graduate of Florida State College for Women, now known as Florida State University. Peggy and her husband raised their family in Mount Lebanon, PA. In 1975, they retired to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Peggy was a member of the Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church, Swannanoa, NC. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Marsha Manke of Mount Lebanon, PA and Patricia Dearth of New Salem, PA; four grandchildren: Todd Manke and wife Robyn of Plano, TX, Robin Rheaume and husband Mike of West Springfield, MA, Meg Radolec and husband Todd of Uniontown, PA and Paige Miller and husband Doug of Uniontown, PA; and five great-grandchildren: Catherine, Samantha, Eli, and Caroline Manke and Parker Radolec. A Memorial Service will be held at Highland Farms Retirement Community in Black Mountain, NC. Arrangements are under the direction of BRIGMAN'S FUNERAL SERVICE, Black Mountain, NC.
