July 25, 1954 - January 12, 2025
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret "Peggy" Thurston Wade, aged 70, on January 12, 2025. Born on July 25, 1954, in Allendale, New Jersey, to the late Lewis Thurston and Jean Thurston, Peggy lived a life marked by compassion, playfulness, and love for her family and friends.
Peggy pursued a career as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner, where she met her husband, Douglas Charles Wade. The two married on April 11, 1981, building a lifetime together filled with laughter, warmth, and love. They made their home in Fort Myers, Florida, until April 2022, when they relocated to Geneva, FL, to be with family.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Peggy is survived by her husband, Douglas Wade; her son, David Wade, and wife, Anna Baer; her sister, Patricia Thurston Alvarez, and husband, Ramon Alvarez; her brother, Lewis Thurston; and her brother, Robert Thurston, and his wife, Dawn Thurston; step-daughter Robin McSheehy; and grandchildren Tori Baer and Tim McSheehy. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her warmth, humor, and generosity.
Peggy's spirit of kindness, joy, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her by savoring life's sweetest moments-with laughter along with a slice of chocolate cake.
