Maria Frias Obituary
Born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Jose and Izilda (Pimentel) Pereira, she lived in this city for 39 years.
Mrs. Frias was a presser at local textiles. A communicant at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jose Frias and his wife, Leonor of Fairhaven and Paul Frias of New Bedford; four daughters, Fatima Dias and her husband, Jose, Maria dos Anjos Pereira and her husband, Mario, both of New Bedford, Maria Correia and her husband, Antonio of South Dartmouth, and Teresa Dutra and her husband, Manuel of Florida; one brother, Gilberto Pereira of Furnas, Sao Miguel; one sister, Ana Pereira of Furnas, Sao Miguel, one son-in-law, Manuel Machado of New Bedford. Also survived by seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and one god-daughter. Mother of the late Berta Machado.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 9 PM at the CABRAL-LAMOUREUX FUNERAL HOME, 177 Cove St., New Bedford. Funeral Friday at 8 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial at St. John Cemetery.
