MARIA
Peacefully and surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 15, 2018, age 50, of Point Breeze. Beloved daughter of Robert and Kathleen (McClain) Lee; sister of Robert, Kevin (Karen Richeson), Margie O'Leary (John), Thomas (Patti), and Brian; aunt of Kyle Lee, Meredith Lee, Caitlin Lee, Claire Lee, David O'Leary, Matthew Lee, Daniel Lee, and Thomas Lee; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A graduate of The St. Anthony's School and employed for over 20 years at Achieva workshops; a participant of basketball and swimming Special Olympics at the JCC and an avid (Saturday Afternoon) bowler. The family is very grateful to her physicians, health professionals and caregivers. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC. FUNERAL HOME, www.mccabebrothers.com, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Sunday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Bede Church, 509 S. Dallas Avenue, on Monday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maria's name to Down Syndrome Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (4401 Penn Ave., Pgh. 15224 Attn: Sheila Cannon) or Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh (2821 Sarah St., Pgh. 15203 Attn: Karen Jacobson).

I had the honor and privilege of being Maria's cardiologist for a good portion of her life. That life was so meaningful and wonderful because of her loving spirit and joyful appreciation of people around her and the remarkable devotion and support of her parents and family. I always looked forward to her yearly visits and the warm greeting and hug I never failed to get as soon as I walked in the room. I will miss her and my chance to get to know Bob, Kathy and Maria very much.

Dr. Robert, Kathleen and the entire Lee family,
I was so sorry to hear of Maria's passing. She is resting in the palm of our Lord for God wanted his angel with him again. Maria was such a Blessing and it was both an honor and a privilege to care for her. She was so sweet and loving and her presence will truly be missed. I pray that God comforts your family during this sad time. Please find solace in knowing you will see Maria again skipping and dancing around Heaven.

To The Lee Family,
My deepest sympathy is your loss. Maria was one of my students at St. Anthony's and I will never forget her bright simile, strong hugs, and funny stories. She also participated in the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy program through St. Anthony's and was a model several times for them, which I will never forget, as that was my dads school as well. She brightened many people's days and I am certain she will continue to do so from above. We gained yet another angel to watch over all of us, thanks to Maria!
