Uncle Jim, Aunties Polly and Kathy, Tiki, Steve and Elena. I was saddened by the news of Aunt Maria's passing. I so enjoyed seeing her in East Moline and other locales: Vail...Geneva...etc. She was always such a BLAST and so enjoyable to be around! And she always made everyone laugh. You all have my deepest sympathies.

Dearest thio Jimmy, cousins Tiki, Steve and Elena. Remember to celebrate thitsa Maria's Life. She touched our lives in so many different ways. I will never forget the great times she had in Ecuador while visiting for our wedding. SHe had a larger than life personality, a very unique sense of humor and a priceless smile. I always had a special bond with her. As we would say it is a "Maria Thing." I was lucky to be able to tell her in life how proud I am of having her same name and last name. She always had a special place in her heart for the "little" Maria Theros and for our family. She proved it over and over again. I will never forget when she came to Sofia's birthday back in July when she was not feeling her best, nevertheless, she made it all the way to Wabasha to celebrate with our little girl. The remarkable thing is, though, that she celebrated with genuine joy, regardless of pain or discomfort. THat is the kind of person she was.
Let's learn from her example of celebrating with genuine intention even when it hurts.
Thio and cousins, you are in our prayers. May her memory be eternal and her example of zest for life prove to be a beacon of light for you to fellow in light and not in sorrow and darkness.

Cousin Maria always made me laugh with her incredible sense of humor.The memories our families shared are indelible in my heart. As others have said, Maria was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother,aunt, yia-yia and a cherished relative to us all. This is indeed sad news. Take special care of yourselves and each other during this very difficult time.

Jim, Tiki, Steve, Elena, and extended family,
