Maria Vargas Obituary
She was born in Ribeira Seca, concelho da Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, residing in New Bedford since 1969.
A communicant of our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, and employed by Eagle Industries as a Stitcher. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, loved by many people especially her husband, son, daughter and grandson C.J. Mrs. Vargas enjoyed cooking family dinners, planting flowers in her garden and stitching. She will be missed most by her grandson C.J. that she would say "he is my pride and joy of my life." She will always be remembered for her big heart, how she helped many and for how giving person she was. Also she will be missed by her parents Hermano and Maria who loved her very much and they depended on her in their life. She will rest peacefully near her most treasured nephew Logan that she visited a lot at the cemetery. It will be hard for all of the family to move on without her in our life, but we all know that she is at peace now, and We love You!!!!! Forever In Our Hearts!!!!!.
Survivors include her husband of New Bedford, her parents of Sao Miguel, a son Jeffrey B. Vargas and his wife Monica of New Bedford, a daughter Jennifer V. Sousa and her husband Nuno of New Bedford, four brothers Hermano Bravo, Guilherme Lima, Tony Bravo and his wife Alise, and John Bravo and his wife Isabel, all of New Bedford. Also survived by a grandson Cameron-Joseph Sousa, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be at 8:45 AM on Wednesday, at the CABRAL BAYLIES SQUARE-LAMOUREUX FUNERAL HOME, 512 No. Front St., New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, from 5 to 9 PM.
Handiccaped accessible and lighted parking area in rear of funeral home.
