Maria will live on...
In the heart of the winter, January 21st,
My friend and confidant passed peacefully away,
And left me at a loss.
I often have wondered since, will her daughters be all right?
Young women in their twenties, in search of a meaningful life.
Will the husband she leaves behind, be able to suppress the tears?
Her loving husband of 29 years.
Will her friends be able to carry on?
We all counted on Maria's love and support.
But today is the 25th,
Four long days have come and gone...
And albeit wintry weather has made the roads slick,
Listening to the ice and sleet hitting on the window sill,
has inspired me to say...of course! We all will!
For Maria gave us all, the strength to carry on...
Her smile and laugh we'll never forget...
Giving, loving, caring--Maria had it all...
And freely bestowed these gifts,
To all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She touched our lives...and thus Maria will live on...
This poem was inspired by Maria's obituary,
With all my love and adoration for my beautiful friend, Maria...
with my deepest sympathy to all who loved her,
Elena Avramidis

Yannis, Des, Nora and Nata- We grieve with you at the loss of a member of our family. We knew Maria too briefly and are saddened that we lost the opportunity to get to know her better. She was a lovely lady and a loving spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Words are not enough to tell you how we feel on your tremendous loss. You are in our hearts and in our prayers, we love you.
" Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life."
