Marie Dusek Obituary
Marie passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Born and raised in Tyler, she graduated from Tyler High School in 1951. Marie was a proud member of the Apache Bells at Tyler Junior College from 1951 - 53. After graduation from TJC, she attended Sam Houston State University, meeting Dan, and graduated in 1955. Marie and Dan were married on October 29, 1955 and celebrated 65 years until Dan's death in 2021. Marie taught Home Economics at both Tyler High and Tyler Junior College. In their later years, she and Dan owned and operated Country Bear Antiques, selling in many different venues and conducting estate sales. Marie was a member of First Christian Church, Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, many wonderful aunts and uncles, and her brother, Walter Lee Todd.
Marie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Missy Dusek; her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Holman and John Braunschweig; one son-in-law, Tony Holman; four grandchildren, Maggie Holman, Taryn McDonald and husband Drew, Devin Dusek and Ryan Dusek; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
