When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many thing to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so may years.
I gave you my love. You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown but now it's time I traveled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part so bless the memories with your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone I'll greet you with a smile, and welcome you home.

Words cannot express my feeling about such a wonderful woman. It was my extreme pleasure to have been a part of your life if only for a short time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. Auntie Madeline was a beautiful person. I(Donna) spent many a time in the past 30 yrs at picnics and family get togethers enjoying her company and her wonderful sense of humour. She was always so accepting of everyone. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Peace be with you, knowing Auntie Madeline is in Jesus loving arms and no longer in pain.

My Brother Jeff and I were talking today; he told me of the many times he remembered climbing the Crabapple tree.

Cathy, how many times did you, Dan B. and I chatted at the end of the fence until the 'streetlights came on' ... about all the wonders of the world as we knew it then? ... inevitably it was your Mom who called you in.

I remember the 'summer schools' in the garage you ran, with your Mom as the "cafeteria cook" bringing out snacks and drinks for all the kids.

Who was the loudest cheerleader during the baseball games in the field next to the house? -we all knew who's side your Mom was on!

Mr. Schmidt, Phil, Larry, Cathy, Bill, John, and Rob; Jeff and E.J., myself and Nancy would like you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Growing up in the neighbourhood, I always felt welcome at the Schmidts. It's been a few decades since we spent uncountable hours in the upstairs, downstairs, or garage playing board games, experiencing the music of the time, or repairing our bicycles.

My memories of spending time at your home, are that we were always treated with great hospitality. Mrs. Schmidt helped create for me a home away from home (even if it was just down the street).

Wishing your family heartfelt condolences...
