Mariecia Cimarusti Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 26, 2024.
Mariecia Patricia Cimarusti, 41, passed away on August 4, 2024.

Mariecia was born on February 21, 1983, in Pasadena, California to parents Ralph P. Cimarusti and Deneane L. (Grotewiel) Cimarusti.

Mariecia grew up in San Gabriel and Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California. She graduated from La Costa Canyon High School in 2001 and then went on to attend Sonoma State University, graduating cum laude with a degree in Liberal Studies in 2005. Upon graduation, Mariecia worked at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara in Carlsbad where she was quickly promoted to Staff Accountant and met her husband-to-be, Christopher Herman.

Mariecia and Chris were married on the beach at La Jolla Shores on March 19, 2011, surrounded by their friends and families. Between 2011-2020, they lived in Seattle, Santa Barbara, Fallbrook (where they bought a home), Hawaii, and then back to San Diego. They enjoyed island camping in Puget Sound and the Waipi'o Valley, watching boats pass through the Locks in Seattle, walking their adopted pug, Cub at Arroyo Burro beach, weekend breakfasts on State Street, and making time to watch incredible sunsets in each of the places they lived.

While in Santa Barbara, Mariecia earned a certificate as a Registered Esthetician. Unfortunately, during that time, Mariecia also began experiencing medical issues that plagued her for the remainder of her life. In her best moments, Mariecia will be remembered as a caring, thoughtful, and mischievous person who loved to play tricks on unsuspecting friends and family. She reveled in carrying out pranks, most notably on her father. She continuously pushed the envelope on what she could get away with, the results not always appreciated by her targets, but hilarious none-the-less.

She loved her family and friends so much she could hardly contain it. If just the most positive aspects of Mariecia could be extracted, along with the intentions she had of the type or person she aspired to be, the world around her would have been a magical place.

Mariecia is survived by her former husband of 12 years, Christopher Hermen and his family; parents, Ralph and Deneane Cimarusti; sister and brother-law Domenica and Joseph Pearl, brother and sister-in-law Rocco and Akane Cimarusti; nieces Savina, Audrey, and Domenica; nephews Rocco, Luca, and Micah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial will take place on Saturday, September 14 at Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook. Please contact the family for details.

We loved driving around Encinitas in high school in her red 3 series...windows down, music loud, wind making her hair wild and crazy.

She was my best friend. I have loved her my entire life. And I will think about her every day for the rest of mine, with a large piece of me missing. My heart hurts. But I think about everything we shared, the memories we accumulated. I see her smile every day. That´s what I carry with me. I hope she is finally in a place of peace. I wish that above all else. She will always be a beautiful soul. I will carry my love for her forever.

Spending time in St. George, UT swimming and hiking in Zion National Park. Mariecia was loving, caring, open, compassionate and kind. May she find the peace she so deserves.

I was Mariecia's esthetician teacher. We had so much fun with her classmates and she was very passionate about skincare. She stayed connected as we shared a commonality in well-being and what that meant. Always so sweet and a ray of sunshine and positivity

So many great memories with Mariecia at Foxtail Golf Course where we worked and Sonoma State. This is such a tragedy. My heart breaks for her, her husband, and her family.
