Marilyn Head Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 9, 2025.
Massillon - Marilyn S. "Mari" Head, age 82, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Aultman Massillon Hospital, following a period of declining health.

Born on February 22, 1943, in Wadsworth, she was the daughter of the late Everett Haywood and Katherine Mary (Pickett) Gibbs Sr. Mari graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1961 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Ohio University in 1965.

On February 17, 1990, she married Norman Joseph Head in Navarre. They shared 34 years of marriage before his passing on November 26, 2024.

Mari began her career as a French teacher before transitioning into data entry in the electronics field. She later worked for Fleming Foods, where she remained until her retirement in 2001.

A woman of deep faith, Mari was an active member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She found joy in nature and had a lifelong love of collecting rocks, building a treasured collection over the years. She also enjoyed antiques, flea markets, crafting, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Family gatherings were especially dear to her heart.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Elizabeth Anne (Jersey Nicolardi) Ondo of Wooster and Jonathon Ondo of Massillon; her stepchildren, Thelma (Sam) Gibson of Massillon, Dave (Mary) Head of Sugar Creek, Cordelia (John) Stoaks of Wilmot, Jennifer (Levi) Miller of Stone Creek, Colleen Sauerbrey of Brewster, and Jason (Jenny) Head of Hartville; her grandchildren, including Isabella and Anna-Marie Ondo, and Cash Nicolardi; and her brother, Everett Gibbs Jr.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mari was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Melinda Ondo, and her sisters, Joyce and Dorothy.

Family and friends may call on November 14, 2025 at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak Street, Orrville, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
