Mario Baylosis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 14, 2025.

It is with deep sadness that we say farewell to Mario Baylosis, who passed away on September 5, 2025. His kind heart and ever-present smile will be dearly missed.

Mario was born on October 11, 1944, the youngest of three children to Soledad and Bienvenido Baylosis. He shared a special bond with his siblings, staying close throughout adulthood and often spending late nights reminiscing, laughing, and telling family stories.

Mario met the love of his life, Lorna, and they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. From the very beginning, they were inseparable-remaining deeply in love and the best of friends through all of life's chapters.

A year after their wedding, Mario and Lorna welcomed their first daughter, Myrrha. Soon after, with the help of Lorna's older brother Rostom, they immigrated to the United States to begin a new life. They were homesick at first, but found comfort in the family and friends they had in the US.

The family later settled in California, where Mario built a fulfilling career as an engineer with the Department of Transportation. His sharp mind and talent for tinkering served him well. Once they were settled in California, they welcomed their second daughter, Aileen, completing the Baylosis family.

Over the years, Mario and Lorna created countless memories with family and friends. One of Mario's regular duties was to organize multiple family trips. Mario really valued time spent with loved ones. Some years later, Mario encouraged both of his siblings to immigrate to the U.S. as well, and the joyful late-night laughter they once shared in their youth continued once again. Family gatherings and holiday parties became treasured traditions. Whether you could make it or not never mattered-Mario's warm smile and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home.

As time passed, Mario found great joy in becoming a grandfather. His two granddaughters and two grandsons brought immense happiness, and he cherished every moment with them. With family outings, adventures with the "gang of ten," and even walks with the five family dogs, Mario delighted in the simple joy of togetherness.

In his final weeks, Mario was at peace. He often said he felt blessed to have lived such a joyful and love-filled life, and he was grateful to be ready to join the Lord. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind and in the love that will live on in all of us.

A funeral service will be held on September 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 901 Oceana Blvd., Pacifica, California. Interment will follow at Olivet-Cypress Cemetery at 11:30 AM. A reception will be held afterward at Patio Filipino, 1770 El Camino Real, San Bruno.
