Marion Joseph Leif, 92, of Antioch, California, passed away on June 21, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1931, in Lincoln, Nebraska and grew up in Port Chicago, California and later moved to Antioch. He was a proud veteran and served in the National Guard, and the United States Marines on the USS Valley Forge as Sergeant of the Guard. He served his country with distinction while embracing the camaraderie and discipline that military life entailed. Marion worked for sixty years at US Steel in Pittsburg, California.

Marion's interests were diverse and engaging. He was passionate about photography, finding joy in capturing moments of beauty and significance. His fascination with computers kept him engaged with technological advancements, while his love for boating and construction allowed him to enjoy and create within the natural world.

He leaves behind the love of his life, wife of 67 years, Valorie Terry, and their children: Julie Davis (Scott), Sharon Lefebvre (Marc), Joe Leif (Robin), and Bob Leif (Edie). He also leaves behind his brother, Martin Leif. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Nathan Leif, Michele Kubacki, Brian Kubacki, Alicia Post, Courtney Leif, Brandon Rosales, and Megan Nordman and great grandchildren Abriella Leif and Arielle Leif. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Luella and Clement Leif, sister Carol Leif, and sister-in-law, Shirley Leif.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Oakview Memorial Park Cemetery at 2500 E 18th St, Antioch, CA 94509. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17th at the VFW Hall at 815 Fulton Shipyard Rd, Antioch, CA 94509.
