Marion Schulz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2025.
Marion Catherine Schulz, "Mary", "Grandma Mary", 97 of Evansville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by close friends and family on July 3, 2025.

Marion was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin, to Emma Stai and Fred Bjoin. She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1945. After high school, Marion married Robert Schulz (deceased), Brooklyn, Wisconsin.

Mary enjoyed the company of everyone she met. She loved to watch all types of birds who visited her feeders and birdbaths. Mary was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on the Badgers, Bucks, Packers, Cubs (Cubbies), Brewers and the Blue Devils from the local Evansville High School. Mary attended her first Milwaukee Brewers game at Miller Park at the age of 90. She was given a baseball from that game during the 7th inning stretch.

Mary was well-known for her over 40 years as serving as a waitress at the Oregon Waterfall Restaurant and the Oregon Family Restaurant. She worked past the age of 80. During her years as a waitress, Mary received many tips of gratitude but gave out far more hugs of love to her customers.

Marion is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hazlett and her son, Dale (Beth) Schulz; 5 grandchildren, Jon Hazlett, Kathy Brush, Benjamin Tomlin, Adam Tomlin and Kyle Schulz; 7 great-grandchildren, Hilary Hazlett, Nik Hazlett, Shawn Brush, Quinn Brush, Savannah Brush, Aiden Schulz and Theo Schulz. She is also survived by her brother, Ron Pieper, Stoughton, Wisconsin

Marion is preceded in death by her great-grandson Trevor Hazlett; brother, Howard Bjoin, sisters, Ardra Juve and Thyra (Tidy) Kluever.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, August 4, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Evansville with Pastor Matt Poock officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30AM until the time of service at church. Burial will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Stoughton. Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home, Evansville is assisting the family. For online condolences please visit www.wardhurtley.com
