After retirement, she received her broker's license and sold real estate for 17 years. In 2003, they moved to Red Wing. She was an active member of United Lutheran Church. As a member of the Red Wing Lions Club, she received the Helen Keller Award and she and Don chaired the eyeglasses collection for a number of years.
