ROCKPORT — Marjorie "Marge" (Thibeault) Budrow, 85, wife of the late Ralph J. Budrow passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, Feb. 6, 2008, at her home which she and Ralph built together and raised their family.
She was born Dec. 6, 1922 at Cable Memorial Hospital in Ipswich. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Eva (Rapp) Thibeault.
Marjorie grew up in Rockport with many happy memories of times spent at her father and mother's market in the heart of Dock Square and on Hardscrabble Farm.
She graduated from Rockport High School, Class of 1940 and went on to Pierce Secretarial School.
She worked for Open Road for the Boys in Magnolia, Cape Ann Fisheries, the Department of Agriculture in Washington, WPB in Boston and the New England Power Company.
On October 27, 1946 she married the love of her life, Ralph. They worked hard to build their little dream home where they raised their three sons and had many happy memories.
Nobody ever left their home hungry, thirsty or not feeling better about life. Marge was a caring woman, always there to listen and help. She worked many part time jobs throughout her married life, including secretary to the superintendent of Rockport schools, Selectmen's office, DPW and Finance Committee. She not only was secretary but a great support to Ralph who co-owned Budrow Brothers Auto Repair with his brother, Micky for many years. She always said of all of her jobs, being den mother to the cub scouts proved to be the toughest. Marge will be sadly missed and her home will be empty without her.
She is survived by her three sons, Ralph T. Budrow and his wife Helene, Thomas E. Budrow and his wife Sally, and Brian C. Budrow and his wife June, all of Rockport; her cherished grandchildren, Steven Budrow of Gloucester, Alex Budrow of Boston, Amy Rose and her husband Tim of Rockport, Sara Budrow, Robin Budrow, Rachel Budrow, Laura Budrow and Adam Budrow, all of Rockport; her great-grandson, Jacob Budrow; a brother, Charles Thibeault of Rockport; a sister, Carol Powell of Rockport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held in St. Joachim's Church, Broadway, Rockport, on Monday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. The burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of North Shore Inc., 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to Senior Care Inc., 5 Blackburn Center, Gloucester, MA 01930. Funeral arrangements are by the Burgess & Mackey Funeral Home, 201 Main St., Rockport.
