Marjorie passed away on June 18, 2014 at the age of 81, surrounded by her family. Six months ago, she suffered a stroke days before she and Wes were to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Marjorie was born in Kingston, Nova Scotia. It was there she met and married Wes, who was serving with the RCAF. They spent 20 years stationed throughout Europe and Canada. Following Wes' retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Calgary and later in Vernon. Marjorie and Wes loved to travel the world and spent many winters in Arizona. Recently, she was able to take a cruise and a bus tour to the USA. Sewing, crafts, interior decorating and cooking were her favorite hobbies. She even made clothes for her children when they were younger. Marjorie was an avid curler and took up downhill skiing later in life. Marjorie was very well read and always up on current events. She loved a good conversation about politics. Marjorie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband Wes; children Shelley, Kathy (Brad) and Kevin (Kim); grandchildren Alan (Roberta), Doug (Kathy), Jennifer (Andrew), Christine, Lyndsey, Brandon and Taryn, great-grandchildren:Jack, Grace and Ayla. She also leaves behind her sisters Helen and Elizabeth. The family wishes to thank the staff at Polson Residential Care for the compassionate and excellent care they provided to Marjorie. A family service will be held in Calgary at a later date.
