Beverly Hills - Beverly Hills - Mark W. Cope - August 26, 2024 - Age 77. Loving husband of Mary Cope for 51 years. Devoted father of Rachel Cope. Survived by dear brothers Robert (Judith) Cope and Thomas (Rebecca) Cope, sister-in-law Carol Koller, many nieces and nephews, and cat Zelda. Preceded in death by parents Mark and Julia Cope, brother Paul Cope, and brother-in-law Kenneth Koller. Mark was born in St. Louis and attended Rosary High School alongside his brothers before studying geography at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He later earned his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University and worked as a logistician for the U.S. Army for 38 years. In retirement, Mark traveled extensively, served as trustee for the Knights of Columbus, and volunteered at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and on archeological sites in the Four Corners region. Mark loved his family and his life. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons, Vasu, Rodgers, Connell Chapel (32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48073). Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass for Mark Cope will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church (32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills, MI 48025), with visitation prior beginning at 10:00 AM.
