I was a nurse in FICU in the 80's and worked with Mark. He was great to work with. We always could count on him. In '90 I developed an bacterial endocarditis, except no one could figure out what was wrong with me. High fevers. Finally Mark diagnosed the bacterial endocarditis as well as a vegatated mitral valve. I was scheduled for valve replacement the following morning but on his night rounds saw splinter hemorrhages and called for emergency surgery that night. This was all in a days work for Mark as he was an extraordinary cardiologist. But while I was in surgery, he sat in the waiting room with my mother, family and friends with his then very young son (because his wife was on call) and waited. And then of course he became my cardiologist until his death. I still think of him frequently and know that I will miss him forever.

Dr. Hausknecht's memory is eternal. My husband and I think of him I often and compare other doctors to how well Dr. H would have proceeded.
When we learned of Dr. H's demise, we were on the Cape next to his childhood home, as we learned upon reading his obit. Ironic and sad.
We still think of and miss him. He wasn't family and only an annual visit, but he left a serious impression on us and set a medical standard not reached by many other doctors.

I can still vividly remember so many exchanges of sound advice and genuine kindness he shared each doctor visit to give me both support and confidence as well as understanding on how to continue amidst challenges and set backs. He lifted my spirits.
He will always very much be a part of my conscience and family in spirit. I miss him and he can never be replaced or forgotten. He lives on in his example of how we should respect and honor others. An extraordinary doctor who has left an indelible footprint with all his patients. In his quiet unassuming humble way he taught others by example of how he lived. A light to be sure that still shines brightly.
I made a promise to him that mine was a life worth saving. I am striving to keep that promise and honor his memory in that way!
With much respect to his family. Thank you for the opportunity to honor his memory in this way. His legacy is a beautiful one. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Hausknecht lives on in my mind and heart as both a truly extraordinary gifted doctor and human being. He continues to leave a lasting impression I believe in all of his patients. I viewed him as a teacher in many ways. He had the most beautiful spirit that still shines brightly in all those that were blessed to call him their doctor.
He saved my life in 2005; when my mitral valve was hanging by a string and I was drowning on my own blood. Had he not been there to take quick action I would not be alive today. When I look into the eyes of my teenage grandson I am reminded of my remarkable doctor who paved the way for me to watch him grow up. He gave me a second chance at life. He will never ever be forgotten by my entire family. He will always be cherished and held in the highest esteem.
I still miss his presence In my life so very much. He will always be my favorite doctor. He was a gift from God to all those fortunate to have known him.
To his beautiful family, I sincerely thank you for sharing him with all of us. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you with his love and continued comfort.

My husband and I speak of Dr. Hausknecht often. We were both patients, and Dr. H also took care of my husband's parents. Both parents lived many years longer with his care. We loved his sense of humor! Such a good doctor and a better person!

Never Forgotten
The Dover Family
August 9, 2018
My father, Frank Dover, was a patient of Dr. Hausknecht for over 30 years and I truly believe he added so many years of life to my Dad. My father respected Dr. Hausknecht's opinion so much that he wouldn't have any procedure (heart or non-heart related) without first talking to Dr. Hausknecht. A truly kind and compassionate man who never made you feel rushed and a heck of a doctor. The last time Dad visited him was in March to discuss whether he should start Hospice. Dr. Hausknecht had a long talk with my Dad and when he left, they hugged and he told my Dad - Goodbye old friend. My Dad passed away a few weeks later and it is ironic that Dr. Hausknecht passed away on my Dad's birthday. I am grateful Dad didn't have to know about the travesty that befell his wonderful doctor - I don't know if his heart couldn have handled being broken. The world has lost a wonderful man and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

It was amazing how he.could remember small details of the family.

An angel on earth was taken from us. I know Mark, Gigi, Matthew, and Paul through First Presbyterian Houston and our adventures in Boy Scouting. Mark is the most gentle, kind, caring person I think I have ever known. As a leader for our boys in BSA he set the ideal example of the kind of man we all hope our sons will become.
After tearing my ACL on one high adventure in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, we took the boys on the next year's adventure of a hiking trip in the High Country of Yosemite. Unfortunately by the end of the trip my repaired knee decided my hiking time was over. Mark organized the boys to break up my pack between them and personally guided me down into the valley to be sure I did not fall and sustain injury. All this in a kind, persuasive manner that I am sure is what all his cardiac patients recall for his "adventures" with them.
God bless you Gigi, Matthew and Paul. You will be in my prayers.

As a former employee of Houston Cardiovascular Associates I have so many wonderful memories of Dr. Hausknecht. Dr. Hausknecht was more than a gifted surgeon, he was also an outstanding Boss. He was always fair, compassionate and direct when necessary and I had so much respect for him as a Physician and a Employer. Dr. Hausknecht was also my Mother and my Husband's Cardiologist and he provided the absolute best and most humble and compassionate care that anyone could ever ask for. My family and I would like to express our deepest and most sincere condolences to Dr. Hausknecht's family, colleagues and his entire staff at Houston Cardiovascular Associates. Rest In Peace Dr. Hausknecht. The world has lost an amazing and gifted healer of hearts!

During our early teens, for too short a time, Mark was my best friend.
And of all the activities we enjoyed together, one of our favorites was riding our bikes everywhere! One event in particular stands out to me, not only because it was a grand adventure, but because it, and Mark, changed me for the better.
We couldnt have been more than 14 years old when he proposed that we ride our bikes from our suburban community all the way to downtown Cincinnati and back again a trip of 28 miles on busy city streets and through every kind of neighborhood. Knowing Mark, I believed he could do this, but I certainly didnt think I could; I told him I was afraid and that I wouldnt accompany him.
Instead of making fun of my fears (as just about any other boy our age would), he encouraged me. He built up my confidence; this was a ride I could do if I focused on the positive and trusted in myself. Wed watch out for each other, take turns leading the way, and together accomplish something we would always remember.
It was daunting, we did it, and it was a wonderful day.
To someone else, it may have been just a bike ride. To me, it was a lesson in courage that Ive never forgotten.
And thats what made Mark so special to me. He didnt doubt himself, and he inspired those he cared for to reach out further, to extend themselves and achieve something worthwhile.

I have never written on legacy, until now. I feel the need to add to the wonderful things being said about this man. Dr. Hausknecht was my doctor years ago when I had done damage to my heart trying to starve myself to death. I was listed as anorexic, but I was not. I truly was tired and didn't want to live anymore. I ended up at Methodist ICU cardiac unit. Dr. Hausknecht would come everyday to see me. I could tell he was so sadden about my physical and mental condition. I knew he cared, and knowing that people like him still existed gave me a little hope. I had a long way toward health and healing, but the doc was definitely a factor. That was twenty years ago, but Inever forgot him. Recently, I had a heart issue scare. Although I went to a doctor in my area, in my mind I already decided that if turned out to be serious, I wanted to see Dr. Hausknecht.
I am crushed to hear of this and saddened that the world has lost such a special man. That said, what a gift we (those he touched) were given.
God bless your beautiful soul Doc.

Our hearts break with the sad news of such a great loss. Mark was a wonderful and thoughtful roll model for both our sons in troop 11. Mark's time as a Scout Master at FPC BSA troop touched so many. John, my husband, recalls the time he first met Mark. He told John during his time as a volunteer, he will receive much more than he could give and Mark was right. It was an honor for John to serve with Mark. Our sons were the lucky ones to have not only a knowledgeable, skilled, passionate leader but also one who was a thoughtful and steady guiding light for our sons to look up to...a man to aspire to be.
Thank you Mark for your leadership, your troop 11 family will miss you and will always hold you, GG, Mathew and Paul in our hearts.

I retired a month ago after thirty five years of nursing. Dr. H was one on the top two docs I knew and worked with. I knew him first at Methodist the Memorial Hermann. I loved doing cardioversions with him. After a period of time once when he was not around, we were told he was ill. Once he came back I said to him he looked so good, he blushed and said "I don't know about that". What a kind and a gentle soul. So very sad. Ellie Neberman RN.

I was a freshman when Mark was a senior. Sigma Pi had an intercom in the phone room so that we did not have to run upstairs to get someone when there was a call for them. One day I walked by the phone room and Mark was saying the most ridiculous things into that intercom...and someone from an upper floor was answering him in kind.
I knew he was premed and brilliant. I learned from that moment...that being playful, ridiculous, and fun is to be encouraged, and is not an indicator of intelligence or lack thereof.
Mark was open and kind and welcoming to us squirts who were trying to figure out who we were. I looked up to him.

Sigma Pi Reunion 2014
Sigma Pi Fraternity Cornell
July 28, 2018
I am writing on behalf of many brothers of the Sigma Pi fraternity at Cornell University. Mark attended Cornell from 1971 through 1975. Many memories of Mark have been shared among his fraternity friends over the past week. I would like to share a few of them, since they capture the college-aged man that we got to know and love. In these memories, which have been edited, "The Ponderosa" refers to the house on Lake Cayuga, near the Cornell campus, where a number of the fraternity brothers lived, including Mark, or "Knecht" as a number of his friends called him.
"Knecht had an uncanny ability to gracefully and confidently get himself into and out of trouble. He loved driving the Cass Park Expressway in his little Vega. This was the walking path in Cass Park on the way to the Ponderosa complete with wooden bridges up and over the small streams. His car just barely fit between the hand rails of the bridges. Priester and I picked him up at LAX to attend Bert's wedding. Knecht was a part of the wedding party and due at the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. He was deep into Med School at this time and had just flown in from Houston. I'm taking a break, no one is telling me what to do. So, a trip to Venice Beach, some food, a few(?) beers, then watch a long UCLA based parade. We got separated somehow, Dick & I lost him. We searched through the crowd, we climbed on top of a bus shelter to look for him and hoped he would spot us. He found us all right- he had climbed onto one of the last floats which was sponsored by the UCLA Alumni he was entertaining the crowd and waving to everyone. A fun loving, brilliant man; a life well lived. I cherish my memories and my time with him." -- Casey Forbes
"I sat down this morning to catch up on my emails and was shocked to hear such sad news. I'm trying to shake it off and remember Knecht. He was a caring person that I was fortunate to have as a brother, a friend and a housemate at the Ponderosa. I'm so glad that we all got to see him again at the Centennial Celebration. I remember Knecht thinking he could eat 3 dozen glazed donuts in one sitting. I think he just saw the movie Cool Hand Luke where Paul Newman tried to eat 3 dozen eggs. Many more memories will come back as I think about him.
We all lost a great person. " -- Steven Sanford
"After sitting down and shedding tears over the loss of our brother and fellow housemate at the Ponderosa I, as I know many of you are, am numb. Knecht's intellect, wit and freindship was so special to all of us in that mid 70's group. Where does one begin to describe such a comrade that carried himself with eternal 'still water runs deep' demeanor and class. He could recite chapter and verse of Firesign Theater, play cards until dawn with 'pecker' the delusional caged bird close by and then proceed to ace all of his Pre-Med Big Red courses. Correct me if I'm wrong Ponderosans, but he had the 3rd floor attic room on the lake and was one of the more active participants in water ballooning passing tour boats... I'm just sayingThe same 1st class derelict who treated GHW Bush....God's speed Dr. Knecht, it was a privilege to know you, be your friend, housemate and brother." -- Sandy Kraker
"I was so sorry to hear this news. I had the privilege of being Mark's roommate our sophomore year in the house. He was incredibly bright and hard working, and had an incredible sense of humor. I remember when he was a math major before he decided to switch to pre-med. There was never a doubt in my mind that he would make it all the way and be successful. What a great loss." -- Peter Phillips
"I'm stunned and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and brother. As a premed I recall taking classes like Organic Chemistry with him. He aced itthat was Mark. My deepest condolences to his family. " -- Jeff Craver
"Knecht was a compassionate derelict-scholar who was always happy to see me, impart humorous wisdom, and just be his loveable self as I struggled to find myself at (Cornell U). I am sad at his untimely death and (upset) at gun violence in our country." -- Pete Cady
"I guess I'm in good company with George HW Bush; Mark Hausknecht saved my life once also. One spring day back in '75, after getting properly "prepared", Mark and I took off from the Ponderosa in my Sunfish. The wind was probably blowing 20 knots. Even though the weather was nice, the water was still about 35 degrees. We tipped the boat over on a tack, and probably flipped it 3 more times before Mark was able to climb on and stay on. I had on a heavy sweatshirt, and by then was so waterlogged and enervated that I couldn't pull myself up onto the boat. Somehow, Mark had enough energy to pull me back on, and we reached back over to the west shore, ending up half a mile or so south of the 'Rosa. We begged some kind lady to let us in and use the phone, and Sandy Kraker came and took us back to the 'Rosa. Thank you Mark; we will miss you." -- Mike Quaid, '75
"I am so sorry to hear about Mark, such a tremendous person with so much to offer and has given so much, and such a senseless act. Mark. our prayers are with your family. I am proud to have known you. I just talked to Knect a couple months ago when we drove through Houston on the way to see my son. It was great to reconnect. I also was a part of many a Cass park express adventures in the vega, with the additional adventure of an icy night coming in from the rosa and fishtailing off off about 4-5 cars on 89. May have been the last vega adventure. Knects skill at driving though was truly shown with Ceciles manual, throttle control.
Going back a few years to Freshman/sophmore years, I do remember while all were drinking cheap beer, Knect went for the much higher class Sangria, I'm having one now in his honor." -- Willy Dougherty
"So many great memories, albeit a few a little fuzzy as well. Although not ever a resident of the Rosa, I did appreciate the many rides back and forth to the house. One of those was with Mark and included a shortcut on the Cass Park Express in a little car owned by Cecile. Great ride! Great wit and dry humor. I will always look up to Mark. So sad, indeed, and an absolutely senseless loss. He made us all proud to know him. He will be missed. " -- John Stetson

My husband is a heart transplant patient and Dr. Hausknecht was his first heart doctor. They met 30 years ago. Dr. H was a "one in a million" type of doctor. He was so special and the kind of person you always looked forward to seeing. He spent time with you and you knew he cared. After my husband moved to a team of transplant doctors, Dr. Hausknecht would still check on him and was always glad to see him. Dr. H was my doctor and I recommended him to many of my family members and friends who also became his patients. Out thoughts and prayers are with his family and staff. We, like many others, are going to miss him very much.

Dr. Hausknecht was truly a compassionate man. When I came to see him and he told me I had cardiomyopathy, I asked what does that mean and he explained. I was by myself and stunned, I started to cry. He came around the desk and hugged me until I could gather my composure. He comforted me and said my dear you are in good hands and we will do everything to fix this. He scedualed a heart cath. I needed a stint, there my brother was with me and we were in awe of his compassion and thoughtful skill, very grateful for him we expressed. He quoted " If I have seen farther, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of Giants" we marveled at such grace my brother and I. Just as the week before his passing I was in his office ready for another heart cath. He said you know me, I believe in getting to the root of the cause. I'm so heart broken that this could happen. May God Bless you and keep you in His loving care Mark Hausknecht and to your loving family.

Dr H was an outstanding teacher and mentor. He was brilliant with facts and critical thinking, but he taught more than book learning. He was the first person to teach me one of the toughest lessons of being a doctor - sometimes it's hard to cope with sad outcomes when you are emotionally invested, but if you aren't emotionally invested, you probably aren't doing this doctoring thing right.

Dr Hausknecht's passing is a huge loss to everyone. My deepest sympathies to his family.
I first met Dr. Hausknecht when he treated my mother and inserted a pacemaker for her. Every time she was in the hospital for other ailments he would come by to check on her and look at her ankles for edema. My 84 year old mother would giggle and tell us all (in front of Dr Hausknecht) that he just liked to look at her ankles. He would just smile and shake his head. A truly charming man who later also became my doctor, my partner's doctor and a neighbor in Old Braeswood. He will be very much missed.

Dr. Mark Hausknecht placed a stint in a very precarious place in my husbands heart several years ago. Because of the stent, my husband didnt have to have open heart surgery. He also treated me for afib and blood clots. After cardioversion the meds he prescribed for me have kept me from expirencing afib or blood clots again. He was a patient, caring, relatable, brilliant man and doctor who treated everyone with such respect regardless of whether you were a CEO or an old couple from The Woodlands. Houston has lost a wonderful doctor, husband, father, brother, sister, son, uncle, and friend. Our hearts are truly broken for the loss of this doctor.

Dr. Hausknecht was an outstanding, kind and personable physician, and he was adored and revered by his patients. I was a long-time cardio patient of his, and he always knew instinctively how to allay concerns and fears, no matter how long the diagnostics process was, or what the end results were.
He was the kind of physician who personally called you at night with test results, and always had a consultation with you at the end of a long day of myriad procedures. His compassion and attentiveness were such that you felt as if you had your own private physician. Every patient I ever came across felt the same way.
His patients, his colleagues, and his loving friends and family are all suffering a tremendous loss in his death. My deepest condolences to his family, and to all of those who knew him personally. You are in my continued thoughts and prayers.

Positive thoughts are with G.G., Matthew, Paul, his family, friends and colleagues. My family and mutual friends are heartbroken and shocked over the untimely loss of such an incredible man. Almost 10 years ago, Mark shared with me that he was diagnosed with cancer and had one month to one year to live. Perhaps it was his diet, good exercise regimen, meditation and positive attitude that kept him with us. Mark was compassionate, good humored, down to earth and an incredible man. He had a sharp mind and it was always a pleasure to spend time with him. He was a true Renaissance man and will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to the entire Hausknecht family. In this time of great loss and sorrow, may you find comfort in all of the beautiful memories and love that will live on forever. I first went to see Dr. Hausknect, as he was the cardiologist for both of my uncles, which made him the natural choice for me too. I will always remember our first encounter. He walked in the room asking, How may I help you? I immediately adored him! His gentle soul was genuinely visible. He was so calm, caring, intent and kind. He was humble and took the time, which made you feel safe and special. He was the gold standard of care, both as a human and physician and he is and will be deeply missed! Anchors away, Dr. Mark and peace be upon you!

Dr Mark was such a caring Physican. He loved God, his wife & family. We crosssed paths at Baylor College of Medicine, St Luke's and Methodist. He loved teachable moments and loved his patients & staff members.

On behalf of my family, all love, light and comfort to you in these dark days.
Dr. Mark saved us too many times to count. He was a friend, a sounding board, a referral service, and so much more for 20 years. We grieve our loss, too.
Too many anectdotes to share, but this might be my favorite. I was at MFAH for a film, looked over and there he was with a gigantic tome. By the time I could get up to say Hi, he was a one-man receiving line at least 15 people deep with those who wanted to do the same and thank him for their very lives and those of their loved ones. Dr.Mark just wanted to read a bit and catch a film, but he was so kind and gracious per usual.
Never enough we could do during his lifetime to express our genuine love and respect for him. I hope we can buoy his family and friends with it now.

This world has been robbed of the most genuine and caring doctor that I have every encountered.
My heart is so heavy with grief and disbelief. This sentiment runs through my family as he was "our doctor". We revere you and love you. You will never be forgotten.

I am so honored and grateful to have known Dr. Mark Hausknecht as my physician and friend. While I am a relatively new patient, I will never forget his kindness and his incredible ability to put me at ease when I was anxious about needing a pacemaker. He took time to explain my situation in great detail and made me aware of some genetic issues that we need to be mindful of in the future. I've never met a more warm, caring, and gracious individual. Rest in peace, Dr. Hausknecht. I am in shock and saddened by this terrible, senseless tragedy. You are going to be sorely missed.

We are both longtime patients of Dr. Hausknecht, referred by other trusted physicians, with glowing comments on his prowess in cardiac care. We found this to be more than true. We both considered his caring manner and obvious intellect to be a source of great confidence that we were receiving the best of care. We will truly miss Mark, his considered judgement and loving care. Our thoughts are with his family and his many friends and cohorts in this time of grief.

As a patient of Mark and wife of Dr. Jesse Dickson whom Mark gave a stent 20 years ago, I am deeply saddened that this wonderful doctor is gone from our lives. I always called him Dr. Heartconnect. I thought it a perfect fit for this compassionate Being. Thank you Dr. H for saving my husband's life and for every kindness.

As a staff nurse in the CVICU at Houston Methodist since 1983, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Dr. Hausknecht since he began his career at the hospital. He was always so attentive to his patients and their families as well as the staff he worked with. I so enjoyed talking to him about Scouting when my boys were in Scouts and sharing the adventures of our boys. He was the most kind and gentle physician I have had the pleasure of knowing. Although I did not know him outside of the work setting I could see that he was an amazing soul who touched the lives of everyone he encountered. My prayers are with his family during this time of sorry and for peace in the coming time. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

I am so grateful for all that I learned from Dr. Hausknecht at The Houston Methodist Cardiac Cath Lab and I also helped out at Medical Center Cath Lab. I started working there back in 1988. As the years went by I acquired a lot of knowledge from him. Truly thankful to this day. My Love and Prayers to the family and all his friends!

Dr Hauskencht was my Dad's Dr in 1988. He was so compassionate and kind to our family when my Dad passed away. He was my husband's Dr for 28 years and my Dr for the last 18 years. I have never seen a Dr that showed so much kindness. As busy as he was, he would sit and go over your condition and answer your questions. He never made you feel he was in a hurry. He would always tell me when he found something, don't worry, I am taking care of it for you. He showed so much care and compassion. I always trusted what he told me. I felt such a sense of loss when I heard of his death, I felt I had lost the best Dr anyone could have plus I felt I lost a good friend. I can't imagine going to his office and not seeing him. He was the best Dr anyone could ever have. Prayers to his family and his office staff. A loss to everyone.

I was fortunate to have met Dr. Hausknecht 8 years ago as one terrified patient. In time I would feel privileged as his only patient as that was how he made me feel.
These past 8 years of success are a direct result of his dedication to his profession and his guidance. He would take the time to educate my family and myself as he answered every question on our list. Only after everything medically had been addressed, would he want to sit for a bit and talk about our common love of flying and my professional flight career.
We are humbled to have encountered this truly gentle man in our lives. We thank him and his family for their support of his dedication. We hope he has achieved a peace known only by those deeply loved and equally missed. Please rest in peace, my friend.

I would not be here if it was not for Dr. Hausknecht. His intervention two years ago saved my life. He was one of a kind, a truly exceptional man. I first met Dr. Hausknecht in 2006, when he treated a friend. I immediately liked him and first saw him as a patient in 2007. He always took time to visit and make sure I understood what he saw in my tests. He was kind, caring and will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his Family, friends and co-workers. You all are in my prayers. God Bless you Doc., Rest In Peace!

Dr Hausknecht was a wonderful doctor and individual who will be greatly missed by us, his patients for the last ten years. He was always willing to listen to questions and to respond with clarity, including calling attention to uncertainties and risks. In all situations, he was never alarmist, rather he always had the same calm, warm, caring personality and articulated a well-reasoned plan to manage our heart health. In doing so, he gave us the support, direction and assurance we needed to live our lives to the fullest despite having imperfect hearts. RIP, Dr Hausknecht.

What can I say about this great man. I was blessed to have worked with Dr. Hausknecht 10 of the 15 years as a nurse on Dunn 10 east of the Methodist Hospital. He was a great instructor, a mentor. A scholar a friend. The kindest spirit, a great doctor. I pray that God gives you comfort and strength to endure your loss. It was dr. Hausknecht that said you are too smart to be a nurse I'm now a nurse practitioner. May God bless his soul. Rest his soul. The man that repaired so many broken hearts. God bless you...

To one of the Dearest Doctors my Parents Mr. & Mrs. Pete and Dolores Lerma has ever had. As their daughter Edie I always took both my parents for regular check-ups and Dr. Hauschecht was always so very patient with them and always explain thoroughly to me about their health and was just the Exception of the Best Human Being I have ever met in mine and my parents life. We dearly loved him very much and will be missed by all. When my Father passed away five years ago Dr. Hauschecht was the Only Physician that took time to call my mother to give his condolences to her . Who Does that Only our Dr. , he had the biggest heart and smile. Our deepest sympathy to his lovely family which he talked of with Great Pride. Our Prayers will always be with your family. God Bless Edie Lerma

Losing this amazing man has saddened me and our entire family. He was my doctor for over 15 years and I can honestly say that, due to his expert and compassionate care, I progressed from terror of imminent death to confidence in the health of my heart and my prospects for a full and fulfilling life. A great smile, an ability to put a frightened person at ease, willingness to generously share his time, attention, intellect and analytical ability in service of his patients...he was truly one in a million. I owe my current optimism and faith in life to him...and my healthy heart, which he has cared for many times. We quite often shared poetry...he truly was a Renaissance man. I send my love and support and sincere condolences to his family, of whom he spoke so often, lovingly, and to his partners and staff at HCVA. He is now and has always been in the Light. Blessings and thanks, Dr. Mark, with all my heart.

We are heartbroken over the loss of Dr. Hausknecht. We knew we made the right decision to have him as our cardiologist the minute we met him. Such a kind man and he made you feel so comfortable during your appointment. He will be missed by so many . . . . rest in peace.

Dr. Hausknecht has been my cardiologist for 17 years and always treated me like a I was the only patient he had. He always explained everything carefully and patiently and insisted that I ask questions if I had them. He also had a sense of humor remarking to me in his office after I had lost 150 pounds " I bet that treadmill was a heck of a lot easier this time". My deepest condolences to Dr. Mark's family, staff and patients. We have all lost a man dear to our hearts!

RIP Dr Hauskenect. I'm still in shock. God brought this wonderful man into my life many years ago. Both my parents enjoyed several more years of life because of his skills. I've never met a more compassionate doctor. The love and warmth he showed my mother and father was truly exceptional. I became his patient several years ago and I'm alive today because of him. I'm truly blessed that God brought him into our lives. I will miss him as much as much as I miss my departed family members. What a truly remarkable skilled compassionate loving man he was.
