Every time our paths would cross, we'd start reminiscing where we had left off...I am not surprised to know how much he was loved by so many people. Special people like Mark Mandel are rare & when they enter your life, you know you have been blessed. We will meet up again some day, Mark...Thanks for the memories!

Mark Mandel changed my life at a Career Fair that he was doing in North Charleston in May, 2008. He was so very welcoming and kind, and reminded me of people from my home in New Jersey. He asked to see my resume before I walked into the entrance at the Career Fair, and then looked it over. He said, "Anthony, before you go in, would you mind taking a few minutes to talk?" He saw something in me and in my resume and after we talked, he hired me on the spot contingent on me interviewing with three of his colleagues. That day, and in the days following, I did those interviews and he welcomed me to The Post and Courier Family. It was what would become one of the most important days of my life, and Mark was the catalyst for so many positive changes in my life. I'm into my 14th year at The Post and Courier. I've been able to get my own home because of him hiring me that day and my career at The Post and Courier all started when he recognized the salesman in me. We had many laughs through the years and he was a very caring man. He asked me to be the officiant who would marry his daughter to her husband, and I was happy to do it after all the good he had done for me. God bless you, Mark. and God bless your family. Your legacy is a great one with filled with love and all the good you did for many people.

Audrey, Melissa and Dana,
I am so sorry to hear that Mark has lost his battle that he fought so hard for these last 4 years. He was one of my favorite colleagues at The Post and Courier, and we had an excellent working relationship for many years there. I have not seen him recently but have spoken to him on the phone periodically since he retired. He always had a gentle spirit, compassion and eagerness to assist anyone at any time. He was always there for me when I needed him as well.
He will be sorely missed by many people, including myself. I am so sorry for your loss, but thankfully he will be resting peacefully in your hearts forever.
You all are in my thoughts.
Your friend,
Chris Wainwright

Mark had the most positive outlook during the last years and we won't ever forget that great smile and love of life he spread to all that he came into contact with. Joe and I are so glad we got to share with he and Audrey the amazing cities we visited. Even enjoying dinner and drinks locally was an experience for Mark and he treasured all those moments we all spent in together - we will miss him as I know you Audrey and his girls will

My heart aches as I think of my Cousin Mark who had such a unique ability to make those around him smile, laugh, and feel good. Even when he wasn't at his best. I will so miss the light he brought to everyone and everything. All my love and thoughts are with Audrey, Melissa, Dana, Michael, Sherry, Aaron and John.

Dear Audrey, Melissa and Dana,
There are no words to really describe the sadness we feel for you all at this time. We've been friends with Mark and all of you for many years, with wonderful parties and travel together with you. Mark was always inspiring to us with his zest for life and he was a trooper in good spirits throughout his battle with this terrible disease. No one has ever made me laugh so much with his sense of humor and jokes. He made the most of the past several years with a positive attitude and same humor. He is to be admired for his courage throughout his battle. We will all miss Mark, but he will remain in our hearts forever. Much love to you all.

Thinking about Mark and his wife and daughters and extended family. I knew Mark through our business association through the Post Courier but became a friend. He was there for me as i adjusted to the new advertising process and was always willing to come by personally and help out. He was smart and thoughtful and so proud of his family. He will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark for 3 years at The Post and Courier. I´ll always remember Mark as one of the true, salt of the earth, good guys. He expressed his love for life in so many wonderful ways. His laughter, his smile, his outlook, his music, his attitude. I´m grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside Mark. You will be missed by many. Rest In Peace.
