Mark McWhorter Obituary
Slick was born on April 20, 1946, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. He was the son of the late Marcus Pharr McWhorter and Marjorie McDaris McWhorter. A 1964 graduate of Tucker High School, he went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. Post-graduation, Slick taught and coached both baseball and football at Henderson High School, before joining Tucker Concrete Company, where he worked with family for 35 years.
Slick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Henderson McWhorter; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Billy Henderson; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Suzanne McWhorter; and grandchildren, Janie and William Henderson, and Madison, Katie, and Max McWhorter.
Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 19, at Lord & Stephens West.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, at the Lord & Stephens West chapel, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Bogart.
As Slick was a proud supporter of Prince Avenue Christian School (2201 Ruth Jackson Rd., Bogart, GA 30622), in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the school in Slick's memory.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home West, Bogart, is in charge of the arrangements.
