Mark Neumann Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 27, 2024.
Mark Allen Neumann went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 22, 2024 in San Antonio, following a short illness.

Mark was born on May 1,1967 to Helen (Tina) and Louis Neumann in Beaumont, Texas. The family soon moved to Austin, and then to Fort Worth, where Mark spent the remainder of his childhood. Mark attended Lake Country Christian School, graduating in 1985. He received both his BBA in Finance and his MBA from Baylor University, and, win or lose, he was an avid supporter of his Baylor Bears! Mark worked primarily in the field of financial sales forecasting, planning and analysis.

Mark was a devoted son, loving brother and uncle, and a cherished friend. He was a talented guitarist, sharing his passion and love for the Lord by playing in worship bands at several churches throughout his life. Mark had a kind, gentle spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mark was preceded in death by his beloved parents, whom he lovingly cared for in the last years of their lives. Left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother-in-law, Leigh and Wade Arnold; nephew, Will Arnold and his wife, Bracie; niece, Shannon Arnold; aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, as well as his lifelong friends, Paul Jones, Tim Elmore, and Jarrod Beckman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on September 7, 2024, 2:00 pm, at Lake Country Church, Fort Worth, Texas. Memorials can be made to Lake Country Christian School (lccs.org) or Blessed Hope International (blessedhopeinternational.com).

A quick description of my good friend Mark Neumann, he is a very kind person with a mild obsession of scavenging for quality musical instruments at pawn shops.  We backed songwriter Lori Dreier in the band 'Wealth of Souls' and had the joy of playing at the Four Star Coffee bar in Fort Worth.  Later on, along with Steve Moles on bass guitar, myself on drums, we would back Mark at the Flying Saucer's open mic nights.  I can still hear Mark's voice singing songs from his eclectic setlist including Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues' and 'Ring of Fire' to the Bee Gees' 'Stayin' Alive'.  Mark eventually joined the band 'Bombshelter' with friends Mike and Julie Thorne.  As time passed, Mark moved to Houston and I to Colorado. We kept in touch mainly by texting whenever his Baylor Bears played a basketball game against my alma-mater.  I am a huge fan of historic US Navy ships and Mark hosted me in Houston when we visited the USS Texas - we had a blast.  On our last phone call, we were reminiscing about our past days playing music and how great it would be for him to visit Colorado or my home state of Oregon; vice-versa, my visiting his home in Comfort, TX and hanging out with the crew of Paul Jones and Jarrod Beckmann.  We ended our conversation by praying for each other.  Mark is in a better place now but, I sure do wish to have one more jam session or visit with my friend Mark.

So sorry to hear about Mark's passing. I'm in shock. Although Mark weren't close, our friendship through Paul Jones was always enjoyed. I was lucky enough to share the stage in support of him at a restaurant one night. My condolences and prayers for his family and loved ones.
