Mark David Oesau, age 53, a longtime resident of Southbury, CT passed unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26 in his home.

Mark was born on September 3, 1971 in High Point, North Carolina to the late Diane Spiegelhalter and Terry Oesau. After Mark graduated from Foran High School in Milford, CT 1989, he enlisted in the Navy where he developed his love for the world of aviation. He proudly served his country during Desert Storm. Upon his discharge, Mark pursued his A & P license which led to his first job in the aviation world. Mark got his feet wet as an aviation mechanic advancing his way to becoming Maintenance Manager.

In December of 1998, Mark met Lisa Marie Campofiore through a mutual friend at Gippers Restaurant and Ale House in Milford, CT where he grew up. Mark and Lisa grew their family in March of 2012 with the addition of their son, Gibson Douglas Oesau.

Outside of being a beloved husband and father, he was also a cherished brother and friend to many. He was an outstanding role model in his community touching the lives of many young men as a lacrosse coach and an assistant to the football coaches of the Pomperaug Warriors, both teams for which his son Gibson plays.

Mark led an active full life. He pursued his love of music as a self-taught guitarist. He played lead guitar with Thompson Street, The Love Handles, and Take Cover as well as sharing a love for his favorite band KISS with his two brothers and his son Gibson. He was also an avid fan of sports. His teams included the Dallas Cowboys, the Colorado Avalanche and most importantly, the Pomperaug Warriors Football and Lacrosse teams.

Mark is survived by his wife Lisa and their son Gibson, his stepmother Lenore Oesau, his stepfather Ron Spiegelhalter and his wife, Cindi Kuzman, his stepbrother Nicholay Carvalho, and his wife, Jenny, his stepbrother Ron Moses and his wife, Michelle and their daughter Liz, his stepsister Jennifer Spiegelhalter, and his stepsister Sara Jastrzebski and her husband James, as well as his Uncle Mike Oesau, Cousin Michael Oesau, Cousin Tim Oesau, his wife Janell, and their children Emmett and Maeve Oesau.

Mark's Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Southbury, CT. As this is a Remembrance Service, we request casual attire. Favorite sports team attire is encouraged.
